Nice place for hiking and have a picnic. There is only one picnic area with cover, the rest are not covered but by the tree. There is one restroom . There is also a small library too. Those sculptures are pretty!! We had a family picnic with friends by the riverside. We had to walk there about 15 minutes to get to the riverside from the sculpture area. It's worth it. We had a great time
There are picnic tables that are shaded by a gazebo structure and then also some seating in the sun! The trails and walking along the river is beautiful. You can also go fishing in the river. It's a really fun place to take the doggos and have a day outside!
Hitting the trail to pick up garbage. As we do on every hike. And just stoped and smelled the flowers on this beautiful day in New Mexico. Land of enchantment, absolutely... This spot is so nice and there's so many trails. Love it down close to the water. Always peaceful and full of wonder
I love the Bosque along the Rio Grande, this area in particular is especially beautiful, I love taking my morning walks here. It is usually very quiet and I rarely see another person, that being said sometimes it can get a bit creepy. Vagrants will occasionally camp out in the area but have never bothered me. The trails are well kept and there is a lot to explore. Sometimes you can hear coyotes and there is lots of wildlife to see.
Love this trailhead near the Bosque. It is an easy walk for all skill levels, and there is even a nicely maintained accessible path near the parking lot. Walk through the beautiful Bosque and trek down by the Rio Grande. Perfect location for families with young kids.
Couldn't have asked for better weather the day we visited. Light rain had just moved through and the temp dropped at least 15°.we are both originally from the area and neither of us knew about the trails. The carvings are amazing and so detailed. I love that a local fireman took the time to turn eyesores into art!!! The trails were nice and clean, we found a beavers den and I found an awesome piece of driftwood so I was all around pleased with our visit!
There is a public restroom, and water fountain. The picnic areas are generally clean, but the restroom is not. There is a book depository at the sidewalk nearest the restroom. There are numerous trails which mostly intersect throughout the open space. The trails run next to the aquaduct, and the river. You can expect to see a variety of insects, small mammals and fowl, fish, turtles, and the occasional porcupine. The one drawback to this area is the parking lot. There aren't enough spaces for the amount of people who utilize the area, and the southern entrance has some very deep potholes.
Easily accessible. There’s a bath room and some information about the area. There are picnic tables but most of them aren’t covered. They have some art around. It’s easy to get to the river and trails by the river.
Neat little stop off the main drag. The chainsaw sculpture garden is right next to the parking lot and not actually on one of the trails. A little over grown and blocked by some plants in some areas but still worth a stop to stretch our legs. Didn't do the trail behind it .
Got our truck window broken into and our wallet with licenses and bank cards, both mine and my daughters purses and our youngest daughters tablet stolen. Keep your eye out for people!!. We noticed a couple sitting in a black vehicle when we parked and on our way back to our truck we noticed they were driving away from our truck. Sad this happens
