"Our teashop is housed within GGrippo art+design, a space dedicated to contemporary culture. The unique combination of an art and design gallery, atelier and tearoom is what creates the atmosphere that customers enjoy. The mix of elements brought from different global cultures expresses our love and respect for traditions and skills from around the globe. Tea is the ultimate connector, and as that allows us to offer experiences that contribute to develop or rediscover links between ourselves and the outside environment: natural and built.A refuge from the mundane, Puerh Brooklyn teashop allows visitors to find peace and quiet in the city, bring guests and spend time with them while enjoying the best teas sourced from origin."

Love this place! Got a gift here for my mother, and the man in front was very kind, very knowledgeable about what kind of tea I was looking for. My mom said after that this tea was the best cup of earl grey she's ever had! Very well worth the price for high quality product. Will definitely come back!Service: 5/5
Went here to find tea for a friend who is a tea enthusiast. “What do you get the woman who knows the best tea?” Staff helped me find perfect, rare tea, offered a variety of price points and options. My friend loved it. Gonna go back to get tea for myself!Service: 5/5
I enjoy that they sell mini puer cakes, but the good stuff ends there. The tea ware is over priced. The tea menu looks good, but isn't brewed very well. I got the gyokuro risky move I know. The ratio of tea to water was visually wrong, and the temperature served was well above green tea brewing range, which burns the leaves. Also the steeping time was not nearly enough for the volume of water used. As for the taste, the usual grassy notes were replaced with the taste of paper, most likely from the take out cup. For how much they charge for a to go cup 9 bucks for gyokuro, they need to do a better job brewing. Tbh given the pretention the shop operates with, it's more than reasonable to just not brew hard to deal with teas like gyokuro, and stick to what you can brew in to go containers like earl grey.
Came here a few times for puerh teas. The staff is friendly and eager to help. They have a variety of puerh teas, never saw so many puerhs in NYC.Food: 5/5
Service was average. I have been purchasing two ounce tins of Jasmine Pearls Organic at least every four months for the past two years. Recently 09.04.22, my significant other stopped by while they were in the area, bought one pre-packed two ounce tin for my parents, and one two ounce package which was scaled to order for us to enjoy. The following day, I opened our package of tea leaves and noticed right away the Jasmine aroma was significantly muted and barely noticeable compared to past purchases. Since my family grows and dries Jasmine flowers annually for tea consumption, I can tell that the batch of Jasmine Pearls is older and past it’s prime. The green tea leaves do not have a characteristic Jasmine scent anymore. Nonetheless, I did not want to waste the tea leaves and brewed a pot of Jasmine Pearls to see if the pre-packed two ounce tin would be okay to gift to my parents. I found the taste of the tea to be lackluster even after steeping the leaves for a longer period of time. There was a good chunk of money spent on the Jasmine Pearls so I will be incorporating the tea leaves into some of my baked goods for a while. I will consider whether or not to purchase tea leaves from this shop.
A quiet shop that actually has the most amazing teas and instruments for enjoying said tea. From green, white, black, and beyond they have various strains as well as blends they pre-package for a few reasons. I specifically got the purifying one that should help me with my seasonal allergies. This shop also has specific options I’ve only found online or from friends who have traveled so it was so nice to see the fun teas and instruments they have to serve tea. There is also a tea room and a few natural hand dyed clothing and home products. Definitely worth a visit and chat if you’re curious or looking to get more into tea.
Interesting selection of tea but terrible service. Was looking at the books but told not to touch in a roundabout and rude way because the books were “new”. The store manager walked himself right out of a sale since I had actually just run low on Pu’er cakes.
Select your tea in the shop, head downstairs, take off your shoes in exchange for the conical felt slippers, and take a spot on the floor as the shop owner comes to brew and serve your tea. Everything about the interior curates a space of comfort and peace - from the furniture, textiles, the little work area that made it feel like the in-house craftswoman had just stepped out for a break. It’s the kind of environment that’s conducive to catching up with an old friend for hours or meditating your way to introspection.
It started with my friend and I wanted to sit somewhere and saw this cute table. We sat there and the gentleman approached us and asked if we like to order tea so we can continue sitting - very fair. I walk inside and he asked me if it’s To go or to sit and drink? I asked if there’s a price difference. There was. What’s the price difference? $6 to go… for tea… and $12 if we like to sit down… I opted for the to go. But meanwhile he was brewing the tea we sat down and rolled our cigarette and fire it up. He comes outside w our tea cups. And asks us to leave. I stated can we finish this up and leave. He’s like no you can’t. We politely got up and moved our self’s about 12 ft away so we won’t bother them w the smoke. But left a very hot and sleeveless tea on the table. He then pressed on can you take your tea? At that point I’m like dude we paid for it and we’re not sitting! Long story short. The boogie attitude and the double the price of you want to sit and drink your magic tea is overrated and hostile the least. The shop was empty as it should be with this line of service. Grow up! People want to sit and have good time not being limited by your white washed policies. Place is trash due to service. Or the lack of.
I went to this place on whim today. It was wonderfully tranquil in here. If you need a bit of time to relax and to think, this would be an ideal location.
