Had a positive and efficient experience at Pure Paws with my cat. My vet Dr. Reilly and the vet tech were both gentle and kind to my pet and thorough in explaining their recommendations. I also received a follow up call to check in on my kitty the next day and give some tips for her new medication, which was unexpected and helpful!
I love this place- I’ve used this location for 5+ years with one dog and recently adopted another pup and am so glad to have this vet in the neighborhood. They are always responsive to any concern or potential issue. They don’t push plans or prescriptions just to make additional money and have always talked through all options available. I really appreciate this team and their level of care.
I've brought my cats to Pure Paws since 2016, first my cat Franklin, and now my cats Sasha and Milo. The staff is always friendly and helpful and my cats get the best care. When my cat Franklin was passing, the staff were compassionate, patient and understanding and I will never forget their kindness. Sasha and Milo have been patients since they were kittens and have received great care at Pure Paws as well.
I’ve been with Pure Paws for about 2 years with my Cane Corso, Kane. It’s always been a great experience. Yet my last visit on 12/30/22 was exceptional! The care Kane received that day made me know I picked the right vet.
I've been going to Pure Paws since I adopted my first dog in 2017 and continue to go there even though I live in Greenpoint. When making decision to adopt a second puppy this past Spring, I also chose to bring her to Pure Paws. I trust the vets and techs there to give me honest advice as well as fair pricing -- unlike other vets I have interacted with. I have referred so many friends here and continue to be a massive supporter of this practice.
Been taking my pitbull mix here for 10 years. Staff change, it's life, but the new doctor called after dropping dog off for the day, for clarification and further details on behavior and current medication dosage, which was appreciated. Comprehensive visits and great staff all round -- every time!
Have been going to pure paws for about 7 years will not be returning and ever since Dr. Stephanie Liff has become the primary vet for my cat I have felt dismissed and my concerns disregarded. She seems to have trouble listening and displaying any sort of empathy for her patients and doesn’t respond to messages unless its a day after our consultation to write complaints about me on my cats record. Also had to remind her that they never contacted me or provided results for tests which she then proceeded to exit the room only to send in the nurse to dismiss me. Seems mostly concerned with the bottom line and not the well being of my cat.
Pure Paws in Clinton Hill has kind and helpful staff. We were immediately greeted by the front staff who were excited to take care of our babies. The doctor and tech answered our questions and any concerns we had with patience and empathy. Thank you!
This is a great vet. They call ahead of time about pricing, everyone’s friendly, and they called us the day after we had to bring our dog Lavender to the vet hospital to see how we were doing. There are vets closer to our apartment but we’ll keep coming back to Pure Paws. Thanks so much for taking care of us!
I've only written one other Google review before, but I recently had quite an unbelievable experience here. Our dog has been a patient there for a little over a year now and he developed a heart murmur in the last year so he's been getting an echocardiogram performed on him annually. We were told we'd hear back in a few days from the doctor, which was the case the last time too. The echo was performed on July 19th and we hadn't heard back about the results by August 11th so I called their office and Dr. Stephanie Liff, who proudly described herself as the medical director got back to me with his results. The results unfortunately yielded bad news for our dog and he now requires daily medication, which I will totally cop to contributing to my sensitivity. When I asked her why we hadn't heard back from anyone about the results, especially if it was time sensitive, she said that she "didn't realize she had a 'result pending.'" and that if we are awaiting results and haven't heard back to just call them. When I pointed out that she was just describing the situation we were currently in and asked for further clarification, she said back to me verbatim, "I have hundreds of test results that need my attention and you just have one dog." I couldn't believe what I had heard. I was stunned by her callousness. I am in the hospitality business and can wholly empathize with the frustration when you are slammed and can first hand understand the demands of a busy office. But she should never throw it back to a patient like this especially when delivering bad news. We've already switched vets because of this interaction. My purpose for writing this is not to simply trash this vet office because we felt slighted this one time. I do sincerely hope the doctor sees this message and uses this feedback to not repeat this mistake and that it stops her from saying outlandishly inappropriate things to anyone else. I have no ill will towards her and can only speak to her bedside manner or lack thereof in this one instance. But if this is the type of thing she says to her patients, she has no business being in a patient/customer facing position.
