Welllll. My 88 year old mother suffered a terribly deep gash on the top side of her hand. We were visiting Claremont where my daughter and her firefighter husband live. He recommended we go to PVHC Claremont Urgent care yesterday. From the moment we checked in to the time we left we felt as though we were treated like royalty. The room was clean, sterile. Staff very friendly and shared exactly the procedure intended and our PA, Jennifer executed the sutures expertly. The injury presented itself as being challenging to repair and Jennifer handled it with thoughtfulness, collaboration with her patient and me as well as the resident MD. My mom tolerated it well. We would definitely recommend this Urgent Care without a doubt. We thank all the professionals involved in my mom’s care.
I am not a local guide nor do I get paid, sponsor, endorse. My opinion is my own and it's legit. I don't quite understand why this place has so many complaints about the waiting time. Folks you have a longer wait time at amusement parks for instance Disneyland and other entertainment venues. If you have an emergency you go to your nearest emergency hospital and not Band-Aid Urgent Care. The several visits, I had here the stuff was friendly. At the time of review I have no complaints about the sanitation of the facility. There you have it folks you can make your own decision weather to have your boo boo Band-Aid here.
We visited because the PA that my Mom had an appointment with at a nearby facility called off but we missed the call and showed up. There were no new appointments for week’s available. I needed to find out what was hurting my Mom and get her prescriptions filled. So we headed to the urgent care. Not having an appointment and it being an urgent care we did wait quite a while but that’s to be expected but ER is a MUCH LONGER wait. The office staff was kind and friendly. Medical help was knowledgeable, personable, spent the time with us we needed and we didn’t feel rushed. PA Jennifer was thorough and helpful. They went above and beyond and we received excellent care. We would definitely go back if needed.
I had a wonderful experience at this Urgent Care. I went in and was taken in immediately due to symptoms I was having. The receptionists and nurses were super kind and very attentive. I saw Alexis Holverson, PA, and she was absolutely wonderful. Spent a lot of time with me. Did not ever feel like she was in a hurry. I was in and out within 90 minutes. Very good experience, all things considered.
Off to a bad start with this place. Had an appointment on Tuesday at 3:30, and as a new patient I had to arrive at 3:00. Soon after I checked in, I was told that the doctor I had been scheduled to see had called off for the week and I would have to reschedule. I was told that they had called me to let me know this the previous day Monday and left a message. I have no record of either call or voicemail. They did, however, call me at 2:38, 22 minutes before my scheduled arrival time. I missed that call, but still, 22 minutes before arrival time when the doctor called off all week? I received a text message to confirm the appointment the previous Friday. I asked if they text to notify of cancellations. Answer: No. Why? Answer: That’s not the way our system is set up. So they use text messages to confirm, but not to notify of cancellations, which seems much more important? When rescheduling, I was at first told I again needed to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment. I thought the point of arriving 30 minutes early was to fill out new patient paperwork which I was able to take home with me to complete and to verify insurance which I brought with me this time. Also, I was informed that somehow the primary care provider I believe I signed up with and who is listed on my insurance card has not been taking new patients for five years. ?!?? And so I won’t being seeing them. All in all, it seems rather chaotic.
The staff and physician was so kind and compassionate. Moving forward, they will be my first choice for Urgent Care. I’ve taken my daughter here as well and was in and out. Thank you for treating us so well it is appreciated more than you know.
This urgent care center does not have adequate capability to evaluate significant head injury. I waited for two solid hours in a very chilly exam room only to learn that they do not have any CT scanning capacity, which is really the only appropriate test for a serious head injury. I should have been informed of that when I walked in the door. I wish I had thought to ask. PVHC Staff and providers were kind, courteous, & professional, facilities clean and welcoming, although the room where I waited for two hours was freezing cold. They did let me get my coat and a blanket from my car. But my two hours in this setting was really a complete waste of time, and proceeded another six hours sitting in the emergency room which did have adequate facilities to evaluate my injuries. Based on my experience, I would urge Pomona Valley health care to improve how you triage anyone who presents to urgent care with complaint of concussion or head injury, please tell the person upfront that you do not have adequate technology to evaluate that complaint. Thank you.
I’m in the waiting room now, only 2 other patients here. The urgent care and occupational medicine receptionists are talking loudly about their tattoos, the urgent care nurse has casually dropped 2 f’bombs along with a couple other curse words. Super unprofessional in this setting. The first care provider told me that he couldn’t take stitches out and was just going to clean my wound and have me leave. A second, seemingly more experienced, doc came in and corrected him. I understand differences of opinion, but he said it couldn’t be done, then did it. This is the urgent care my family has used for a few years now and usually a good experience, but not so much this time.
It was incredibly infuriating and disappointing. The front desk staff were very nice but the PA I saw did absolutely nothing for me. I was and still am having severe pain in my lower left abdomen and lower left back, and he pushed on me in a few places, repeatedly questioned whether I had strained or hurt myself in some way, which I had told him from the start that I hadn’t, and then told me they couldn’t do an ultrasound there, so I should take ibuprofen and go home. I said, “How is ibuprofen going to treat the cause? That’s simply treating the symptom.” He then told me they couldn’t diagnose me and to come back if the pain got worse or go to a hospital. Yet they still charged me the $30 copay despite doing absolutely nothing for me medically. That’s a pathetic “healthcare” standard if you ask me.
2 hour wait ugh. Attention staff while we want you to enjoy your work please understand that if you guys are out side the room that we have been waiting in for an hour to see the doctor laughing and small talking it makes us frustrated. It makes us question whether or not you are working. It makes us wonder if the laughing and small talk is keeping you from processing tests etc. Then that last person comes in to give us our paperwork with instructions and we are just frustrated and not very nice. To that person I apologize. Being sick, waiting 2 hours, and then all that laughing and chatter just made me crabby.
