I lived at this apartment complex for over a year and I sad to live a one star review, but these last 3 months have been a nightmare. The concierge manager Justin is amazing, the peace and quiet in this area is wonderful and the amenities are great. The only downfall is this apartment complex is infested with mice. I’ve caught 5 mice in the past week coming from convector. I will say they have inspected the apartment and patched up holes, but still mice are coming through. The apartment manager Ms. Rose lacks follow through. I’ve emailed the apartment manger and leasing manager about my issue a week ago and gotten no response. No phone call. No knock on the door. No note of concern. Nothing. It’s obvious, they do not value their tenants and it’s all about money. Do yourself a favor and look else where. Nobody should have to live with mice. And everybody deserves to be treated with concern.
It's an okay place to live. Nothing spectacular. The location is great no complaints there -metro and bus accessible, lots of dining and shopping options. The rooms are average, not very updated, especially the bathroom. The amenities are solid, but the equipment in the gym is rusty and some machines don't seem safe to use and the hot tub is often locked or not working. Some minor roach and rat problems. My main complaints have been with management staff. They're generally rude and non-responsive. It's bizarre because literally everyone else in the apartment is so kind - the front desk staff are exceptional, helpful, kind, the woman who manages packages is very sweet, and the maintenance staff are all very great people. Maintenance tickets at times do get overlooked and that's frustrating, but at least when they do show up, they bring good energy. I can't say the same for back office management staff. I've dealt with a handful and not a single interaction has been positive - just kind of abrasive personalities and poor communication. Overall I don't think the rental price is justified by my experiences here.
I started out loving my experience here and the front desk staff are super helpful Marvin and Justin are incredible but the building folks who coordinate in the back office have not been the best at communicating or following through. I have asked for a toilet and bathtub to be fixed starting July 21 and they still have not come to fix. I asked the back office for help back around the 2nd week of August and still heard nothing. When I asked someone, they told me I should come downstairs again. Needless to say they are not very willing to directly help you if it's "not [me] you need to talk to."
Visited only. Seems like a nice place to live. Very convenient to stores, Connecticut Avenue, Metro bus&rail, Rock Creek trails, Zoo, etc. Some residents have a different opinion about internal operations and problem resolution responsiveness...
Do not live here unless you're in a pinch. I'll start by saying the Front Desk is incredibly kind and helpful. Likewise, it's nice to live near a metro and Rock Creek Park. However, those are really the only redeeming qualities. My apartment has been constantly falling apart. The walls, ceiling, and baseboards are cracking and maintenance rarely resolves the issue and are often dismissive of water leaking and damage. Parking is somewhat convenient but if you arrive late at night you won't get a spot. Be very aware of where your apartment is in the building; if you live near/below the gym you'll hear weights being slammed from 6 am - 11 pm every day. The building will frequently shut off the water in your unit. They have periodically closed the parking lot, the gym, the laundry room, and pretty much every amenity that would normally make the rent understandable. The apartments are small and old and not that inexpensive so it often feels like a waste of rent.
Spoke with Justin at the front desk, met me with a rude and condescending tone. Got very touchy when I asked him for his name. Definitely left a lasting impression...
Just like most in DC, the building is very old. The price is also a bit high but for the safety of the area, it's worth a little extra money. Management office is very nice and maintenance is generally pretty good. Parking can be a challenge in the lots of you come home late. There is street parking available. There is also an option to purchase a space in the garage. Close to metro and a dog park. Also very convenient if you like to walk through Rock Creek Park area trails.
I'm being generous in adding a second star because there are some good qualities about these apartments which I'll start off with. First, great location. Safe, in walking distance of the metro and multiple bus lines along with several dining and shopping options. A++ for location. Second, amenities: The rooftop deck is nice. The gym is....functional...mostly more convenient than it is functional since many of the weight machines are extremely rusty, creaky, and sketchy to use, but the cardio machines are solid. Third, rent control. Need i say more? Took advantage of the covid pricing so I pay less than $1500 for a studio which is a blessing because living here is is not worth much more than that. Fourth, front desk staff is generally very kind/helpful. On to the negatives - 1 Maintenance - buildings old and rooms poorly constructed so I have had a lot of maintenance issues. Tickets are often closed without being addressed. They are extremely slow or completely non-responsive usually. Despite being clean/tidy I've had minor issues with roaches and one mouse siting and they literally do not care. An exterminator came for the roaches and literally just set up two small sticky traps I could've done that...in fact I already had up sticky traps from the mouse siting. Other than that broken appliances - my microwave broke the literal first week living here and maintenance didn't come for over 2 weeks this was a struggle because I hadn't even gone proper grocery shopping yet. 2 Hot tub has been broken since I got here - that was one of the main selling points for me, but as with everything in the apartment, the hot tub is broken and has been for at least 3 months. 3 The building smells like weed, cigarettes, and wet dog particularly the 1st and 2nd floors of the South building. 4 Paper thin walls. I hear...everything...everything. I'm gonna move on. 5 Management - can be rude; leasing office was very non-responsive and disorganized during the application stage. But yeah I know my review is negative but I think my studio is so cute and would love it here if they took better care in maintaining the property and responding to resident complaints.
Have lived in the Quebec House for a little over a year and have nothing but positive things to say. Honestly, this is one of the best deals in the area, when factoring in price, location, maintenance, cleanliness and quality of units. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They resolved both maintenance requests I had in less than 24 hours. The location is awesome because it is right off of Connecticut Ave near the metro, but we have our own community next to Rock Creek Park. Would definitely recommend living here to anyone.
I have been a resident at the Quebec House for over 1 year and would recommend it to anyone. The apartments are quiet and well-maintained, the building and amenities are nice, and the location close the metro and Rock Creek Park is great. Bonus points for a management and maintenance team that is incredibly kind, helpful and responsive. We've had some issues with our appliances, which is to be expected for any apartment building, and every issue was resolved in under 24 hours.
