Story

Queens Medallion Leasing is owned and operated by Basil Messados and Tony Georgiton who started the company in 1991, managing just nine NYC Taxis. A true testimony of a rags to riches story living the American dream, both men immigrated to the US from Greece with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. For years they each drove as NYC Taxi drivers learning the ins and outs of the taxi industry from the bottom up. With a dedicated work ethic and desire to achieve unparalleled success, the two aspiring entrepreneurs and long time friends formed the lucrative business partnership which exists today.

Through the years, our company has profoundly grown and currently manages over 600 NYC Taxis and 1,500 drivers. As one of NYC’s largest and most reputable companies, we have long established the golden standard in medallion management for medallion owners and drivers alike. In addition, through our affiliates we provide an array of services such as medallion taxi insurance, medallion sales and medallion financing.
