For the past three years I have served as president of the Quiet Dell Community Center. Along with the support of the community and members we have been able to have the septic repaired and septic lines under the building replaced, install two new electric stoves in the kitchen and are in the process of completing work to eliminate the leak on the back wall. We provide the community with a wonder facility that includes a full kitchen, clean large playground, large parking area, and pavilion that seats 40. Our main room seats 70 to 80 people. All of our proceeds go to the upkeep of the building and we thank everyone for their support. We invite you to visit our center for you rental needs and call ahead since we our calendar fills fast.

In my opinion the majority of the people who are running the show there love to point the finger and not look at the remaining ones pointing back at themselves. All they want to do is recruit new people to do the work around there so they don't have to do it but they'll smile in your face and act like your friend the whole time. If you get involved, proceed with extreme caution, nothing may happen right away but the wheels will turn and you will see the pile of responsibility will be dumped in your lap. I know first hand of two very dedicated women who gave years of there time and were never thanked for all the extra work they have done including cleaning up after the toilets exploded multiple times. And the board was informed in the past on how to repair the problem with the plumbing. But they prefer to hold on to the finances and keep on building the account over $8000.00 at the time which the community raised. Now in my opinion a nonprofit organization should not be making such profit!! I feel it should go back into the building it was raised for or back into the community. It's a darn shame that so many people are being snowed for so long by this chosen few.
:-)Now I realize I'm not scoring any points here in my community. but after witnessing for so many years what I feel is negligence and abuse of what they might think is power I just had to share my thoughts and feelings. BUT THAN AGAIN WHAT DO I KNOW? I JUST MOVED HERE FROM ANOTHER STATE AND I COULDN'T CARE COULD I? Thank you all for reading, a concerned citizen in Quiet Dell

I want to say how impressed I am with the progress and hard work of the members of the Quiet Dell Community Center Board. Their concern for the community and youth of the area goes well beyond most that I have observed in the area. The residents of Quiet Dell and Rock Lake should be happy that a few still have an interest in keeping the Community Center open and work hard to accomplish that effort. The public should step up and work together to keep this building available for community and personal events that can happen so close to home. To make a community grow is so very important and should be the goal of all in the community by setting aside selfish pettiness and start working along side with the Board in helping to make sure the Community Building will be open for the future generations. It takes money for upkeep and the Board always needs the community's support, help, encouragement and suggestions of new ideas. If there is no cooperation or support of those that work so hard to keep the history of the local community active, there soon will not be a community building available. Coming home and visiting the old school and being able to participate in the events held there brings back so many fond memories. Don't let the history disappear. Help make it better by lending a hand of fellowship instead of bitterness. Remember, it takes a village not just 3 or 4. Step up. Make the Community better and work together. I know I sure miss that opportunity. Any Community can work together to make it close knit and more like the family's we once knew. Be there for the Quiet Dell / Rock Lake families; you will be a blessing to those around you and the area will shine once again. The Quiet Dell Community Center is an asset to the Community and needs everyone's help...step up...be that concerned citizen...reach out...work together not against one another...help keep the lights on and be proud of the Center that you have. Thank you, the Board, for doing such a good job with the few that help. May your membership grow and the dreams continue with more help!
