Story

Rainy Day Books is a full-line, full-service independent bookseller that carries a wide array of carefully selected hardcovers and softcovers for adults and children alike. We also carry a wide selection of creative and imaginative boxed and individual greeting cards. Among our personal services: we special order books daily, provide complimentary high quality gift wrapping, and we carefully select appropriate gifts for in-store pick-up and/or Global Shipments.

Our "Author Events Calendar" is one of the best and busiest in America. Each year we welcome about 300 authors to Kansas City, ranging from debut novelists destined for greatness to prize-winners, bestselling legends and the movers & shakers in the news. Most of our author events are held off-site at venues that comfortably seat the large crowds that we draw.

Our Loyal Customer Program rewards your faithful patronage. Purchase one or more books in-store and we will add you to our Loyal Customer Database. You will save 10% on most in-store in-stock books and 20% on hardcovers currently listed as a "The New York Times Best Seller." You will automatically remain in our Loyalty Reward Program as long as you purchase 1 or more books every 6 months.
