Excellent food, timing, and service. Not overly priced $100 with tip for 2 and we got to try each dish we wanted and left feeling full. A few of our faves are pictured below. Reservations were definitely necessary and require you to call the restaurant potentially serval times. Can’t wait to go back!
Nothing short of amazing. It's clear that each dish is made with care and attention to detail. Great chargrilled taste. Desserts also delicious. The pricing is very reasonable. Service was excellent like in Japan. Love the Japanese toilet! We can't wait to come back and also try the other Raku restaurants.
Raku is a delightful restaurant to visit if you're looking for good food, good service, and an escape from the garish meals that are normally served on the Las Vegas Strip. The restaurant is trendy looking, and yet cozy and comforting at the same time. Because we didn't have a reservation, it took about 30 minutes to get a table, but once we were seated, we found it was well worth the wait. The food is beautifully presented, fresh, and has a clean simple taste that countered many of the "over-the-top" meals we had on the strip. Because we wanted to try a large variety of foods, we ordered the omakase, as well as several other plates to supplement the meal. As dish after dish arrived, we were treated to a large variety of flavors, textures, and excellent food. Each plate was artistically styled and were flavored beautifully. Our servers were friendly and informative, and we had an enjoyable evening. While this was an expensive meal, it's one I would consider getting again because the food was very good. It's definitely worth a stop if you're going off the Vegas Strip.
One of the best Japanese non-sushi restaurants I’ve ever had in the States. We had the tasting menu but then realized at the end that it’s more expensive and less food than if you order the single items on the tasting menu separately. Recommend an early dinner and go to Sweet Raku in the same court for dessert.Recommended dishesFoie Gras Don
This is the best Yakitori place I had in the US so far. 1. The price is very fair for the quality of the food. We spent a bit more because we ordered alcohol. But food is very reasonable. 2. Service is great. We ask for a separate room and they just let us reserve it. 3. Every dish is amazing. Salmon is crisp on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Wagyu melts in your mouth. Uni is soft and does not stink, tofu is perfect etc.
Amazing dinner at what i would consider a bargain price point. Really high standard of Japanese grilling and sushi. Cozy restaurant with really good service. Personally i felt that every dish tasted as they should. Really enjoyable dining experience not to be missed if you in vegas. Raku is located away from the strip and well worth the short journey as it beats most restaurants at much higher prices even that are strip and hotel located.
Wonderful waitress and wonderful food! Freshness and prices that really can’t be beat. Came back after 4 years and was equally impressed by the fresh tofu! The green tea salt on the table adds so much flare to the dishes.
Make sure to make reservations. Saw people who didn’t and got turned away. Service could have been better. Bring a sweater, AC is on high. We had a hard time understanding what our server was saying. Suggest the bring the omakase menu list with the regular and drink menu instead of us having to ask for it. Noticed other tables had to ask too. It just causes more wait time which we had a lot of when we sat down. They have a chalkboard with specials but when you can’t understand what the server is saying, it doesn’t help and the board doesn’t have enough written to get what those were or the prices. Maybe a special printed specials paper would be easier for all. They have a really nice spices and sauces tray. I loved the green tea salt. Forgot the take a photo of the omakase menu. They have 2. $120 and $150. It was nice that they are flexible to let us get different ones. I ordered the $120 because I wanted foie gras. Husband got $150 with king crab but there was an * that they can substitute and they did and he got snow crab. It would be nice if they told us when we ordered that it was substituted. The snow crab was really good though. I had some of it. But maybe the king crab would have been even better. The only things we didn’t care for was the fried fish and the burrata cheese. Sashimi plate was soo good, melts in your mouth. The pork cheek was one of my favorites. Mine didn’t have truffle but I dipped it in his sauce and I got to have truffle too. He doesn’t like the fatty pork. But I loved it. Green tea crème brûlée was really good too. Overall I enjoyed our food and would come back. Maybe order only what we like next time.
It took me calling to reach a full voicemail periodically over three weeks to finally have someone pick up to take our reservation! Raku Sweets gave me the tip to call within two hours of their opening, but even then it took a few tries. The Facebook messenger read my message but never responded. Luckily a trusted friend had spoken of the restaurant so highly that I didn’t give up. We were able to secure an 8:30pm Saturday reservation for four and ended up seated in our own little room where we each ordered the $120 omakase. It was a very nice experience, with wonderful staff, beautiful ambiance, and all impeccably prepared dishes. The dinner was more meat heavy than expected, and while delicious our favourites were the incredible house made tofu and the sashimi platter. I’m told we should return in fall for ikura season.
I had several omakase places in mind. Even with pre-booking a month out, they were all full. So book earlier. However, at Raku, it’s not a set block of time for omakase. You can have it anytime during your dining experience. This place is small so reservations highly recommended. We did the premium course $120 vice deluxe $150. Raku is robat’a style which is grilling over hot charcoal. We really enjoyed half grilled meats/vegetables and seafood. 1House made tofu was like a texture of fresh ricotta. We were advised to eat half with their special soy sauce and the other half with sprinkled Japanese green sea salt. 2Bluefin tuna w caviar egg yolk- took it as a shooter. Kampachi amberjack then I think it was striped bass. 3Pork cheek skewer 4A5 wagyu skewer 5Asparagus coated in Japanese rice cracker then prawn then Kobe beef 6Lightly fried fish of the day 7Enoki wrapped in bacon skewers 8Foie gras bowl - the weakest dish. Disappointed because I love foie gras and this was a grilled thick cut but it just wasn’t as creamy and fatty as it should be. 9Then we were given complimentary roasted green tea and palate cleanser. 10Green tea crème brûlée w green tea ice cream. Save the best for last! We enjoyed the skewers over the seafood. I think because it wasn’t a blocked time and we couldn’t see them make it. We sat at the bar and saw other dishes being made but it was a complete eye sore with piles of empty clean dishes on the counter in front of us! Since anyone can order omakase, it was being made in the kitchen so it took away from the experience as it was being made in mass production. If we come back, I would only order the skewers a la carte. Rating this place 3.5, rounding down to 3.
