Story

Named after Alexander Ralston, the engineer who after moving to the United States from Scotland, was hired in 1820 to help survey our city. In 1821, Ralston was then commissioned by the Indiana General Assembly to make a city plan for Indianapolis. As originally planned, the city’s 1-square mile footprint included the Governor’s mansion placed centrally on a large circular commons. Demolished in 1857, the original Governor’s mansion was replaced by what we know today as Monument Circle featuring the 284-foot tall limestone and bronze Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument.

Diverse menu that had a lot of intriguing options for both food and drinks! Unfortunately we were just passing thru for a drive break but we enjoyed drinking the Best Judies mine was spicy and perfection while eating some goat cheese marinara knots with some of their unique lemon champagne cucumber slaw - Camille was friendly and offered great recommendations, in addition to outstanding service during our visit.
We got the flight of sliders and these sliders ended up being a bit bigger than we were expecting. I got the Hoosier, a smash burger I believe it was called, farmhouse slider, and I forgot the other one. They were pretty good actually and I loved the pretzel bun. Only downside was they seem to oil the heck out of the buns, so be ready to use napkins a lot. A little pricey but probably would go back again.
Had lunch with my adult kids while traveling through with our dog. Food was good, the atmosphere is great! And add in they allow pets!! Awesome spot to stop for a nice meal.
Google recommended this place, because we love gastropubs/brewpubs. Google was right. Great patio with an Irish pub feel inside. Good local beer selection, and the flatbreads were great; but the pretzel bun slider flight was fantastic...chose your own 4 sliders from 12 options including vegetarian options. Will be back next time we are in Indy.
Love their food. Started ordering on Doordash, and we ordered regularly. Always quick, hot, and tasty. Now, they are almost never "open" for take out or delivery. Guess they forgot that their customers are not just the ones that dine in. I even called, and before I could even ask if there were times they would offer pick up or delivery, the woman cut me off and stated they were too busy for that and hung up. Guess they have all the business they need, so no longer need those of us who supported them through the pandemic. Shame.
We've been coming to Ralston's regularly now for both the food, service, and drinks! Their pretzel bun burgers/sliders are a favorite of ours as well as their waffle fries that come with a sweet cinnamon cream cheese sauce. There's metered parking out front, although they used that space in the summer for outdoor seating for COVID. They have a great beer/drink selection and draft options too! This place is perfect for dinner or to grab drinks with some colleagues and friends.

Called ahead, but basically walked in with a party of 12 on a Saturday night with kids. Everyone at Ralston's was super helpful and friendly. No kid's menu, but my kids were able to find things they like in the menu. Minimal wait for large group. Food delicious and staff incredibly friendly and helpful.
R.I.P. to Ralstons . Me and my partner have been coming here since we’ve starting dating over almost two years ago. This was our FAVORITE spot. Great food and an amazing beer selection which is why we liked it so much. I mean we recommend this place to EVERYONE we know even people who come in from out of town. It’s been about a month since we’ve in because we have been out of town. I’M DEVASTATED. They completely changed the food and it was terrible. Everything I ate was gross and you can tell they are really cutting cost on quality on top of the fact that they have jacked the prices of beer up to unreasonable amount. I’m so sorry to lose out on what was once such an amazing place.
