Really great view and outdoor seating. They have very minimal food options but an extensive wine list and drinks. The serving is not too heavy but they are filling. If you are wanting a heavy meal, this is not your spot. But if you are looking to just chill. This restaurant is a great place to have a few drinks and oysters with friends.
It’s our first time eating here for lunch. They have a nice outside courtyard type room. The staff is nice! Everything we ordered we loved! I’m a snooty food eater clean, gluten free, organic if possible and loved it all. I had sangria which I requested less sweet and it was perfect!, the chowder was amazing, the scallop carpaccio was so flavorful and unique, oysters were fresh and tasty. The catfish sandwich had a thick piece of fish and good flavor and the side celery root slaw was good! Now I have 3 places at the wharf I like!
Beautiful restaurant with a lot of seating. Service and drinks were great. Oysters were okay. Out of 6, 1 was so small the shell looked empty - bottom right in photo. Also, I didn’t appreciate the 18% gratuity added to my bill. I would have tip that anyway.
We had the most wonderful time at the wonderful time at Rappahannock! Our server Nakeria was charming and delightful, and despite the wait on some of our items, she made us feel attended and satisfied, and had great recommendations, like the necromancer and the low speech I know I'm not quoting that one right pictured below. The oysters were fantastic, the drinks smooth, and the company delightful. I can't think of a more perfect place to go after viewing the cherry blossoms on a bright and breezy day.
Great vibes. Very nice dishes with all kinds of seafood and especially oysters. We met out friends from out of town there. Their glass walls were my favorite, you can see the view from the Wharf. Be aware that it could be very sunny in summer to sit outdoors.
Everything was awesome From the hostess to the servers. The food was great we had no complaints. Even our kids enjoyed their meals.
The whole grilled fish is so good! Flavorful! The salad is soooo sour, I feel my teeth hurt from it. First time try Bloody Mary not my type
I tried the whole Branzino in 3 different restaurants in DC and I can tell this was the best! It was so good that I decided to go again few days after. I also tried the shrimp fry basket, it was ok. Location is great but be aware that parking space is very limited and expensive in the area.
Should have known after my initial contact when ordering my drink it wasn’t going to be the best experience. We were not offered a drink menu so when I try to order some thing, she abruptly coming off and said “oh baby we don’t do that. Everything here is local we don’t have anything standard. that’s great. I’m all about supporting local however, the way she was speaking to us, addressing us as “babies”, “honeys”, “lovelies” was just VERY off putting. Just was pretty much speaking down to us which was not appreciated. Once she showed us a drink menu and I asked a question her answer was yea I just said we only have speciality drinks because it’s all local liquor and beer. And as you can see in the photo the drinks are VERY small in a whisky glass and they were $18 each. Oysters were good and fair market price. The fried shrimp was good but for $22 for 8 shrimp was not what I was expecting. I asked our server CC if it was a meal that could be shared and she said well technically anything could shared. Like no kidding the fried shrimp came with an ton of fries and they were good. The lighter plate of Clams was a great portion for the price, and tasty. Also they automatically charge 18% tip, and from our experience yesterday I can understand why if that is standard service. The view was good and the food was ok, drinks not so great and service not so great so thAt reason I give it a 2
The food is decent but not worth the price, and the service is pretty lousy. I ordered the crab cake, for 36 dollars I go one crab cake about 1 and 1/2 inches across and about an inch thick. The poor boys were not generous either in that the shrimp one had about 6 shrimp on it total.
