I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm glad I finally did. Casually comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly and welcoming with a real homey vibe. I'll never forget my first bite of the classic Wimpy Burger. The flavor combination of the red chili sauce, lettuce, cheese and burger have me hooked. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu items.
Delicious! The owner and staff are very welcoming, they make you feel like family. The food is delicious and comes out pretty quickly. The outdoor seating area is cozy and covered. Definitely gonna make ourselves regulars now that it's open again.
Delicious red chile! Super friendly staff! And very reasonably priced! The wimpy burger is a must try.
Great local spot with great food and great service. 100% recommend. I tried the taco burger with green chile.
Glad these guys are open again for business. Go see them, support local.
Delicious food and best Taco Burgers in New Mexico.
Fantastic food, great service, beautiful location, and super affordable. Order a double wimpy with cheese, or the green chile double cheese burger combo that comes with fries, and ask for a side of wimpy sauce with it. We needed a good burger place in the neighborhood, it was long overdue.
This place just started doing breakfast. The burritos are incredible! Red Ball Cafe is one of the historic business on Route 66. I split a burrito with a friend and was stuffed! They have authentic red and green chilie. I’ll be back soon! They also have a variety of coffees to choose from. Give them a try. You’ll be back. I’m sure of it!
Grew up in Barelas and eating at the original Red Ball. I tried the wimpy burger because I had a little nostalgia. Trust me this was no where close to the wimpy I remember. Where do I start: the chile was all wrong, the delicious chile I remember was actually red not orange and watery, it had a unique blend of spices and was thicker . The hamburger meat was 100% pure ground beef which was formed into a ball then pressed down on the grill. The patty I got was a processed one that tasted like it had fillers. This wimpy was a poor imitation of the original. The original wimpy did not have cheese. The one place that was spot on and absolutely like the original was little red hamburger hut, which unfortunately closed.
The wimpy burgers taste good. The service was very slow. They forgot my fries, and all my sides, the cheese I asked for was literally the size of a quarter. My co workers taco meat was pink. You need a very long lunch in order to get your meal.
