Simply awesome! If you have been to an REI, then you pretty much know what to expect. If you haven’t been, then must visit even if you don’t plan on buying anything. This particular store is located in Keizer station. The staff is wonderful. It’s a single level, I wish their store was bigger. The garage sale section is decent sized. I have been finding a lot of shoes there for some reason. If you are a regular customer, the store manager sends offers every season
I like to buy at my local outdoors store, rei is also a great resource, and not far from home. Great selection in store or order online and have your items waiting for pick up. Fast friendly service.
I've been to many REIs across the US and this is one of the best! And my favorite in Oregon. Very clean, well-organized store with lots of apparel selection. It's easy to find parking close to the store and the check-out process is quick & friendly. Fun place to shop!
Manager’s kind of a jerk. Needed help with a return or exchange, or even an option to trade in a backpack and he just started shaking his head no before I even finished asking my question. I know there’s a trade-in and he wouldn’t even suggest it. He ONLY shook is head, said no way, and sent me away. I was planning to buy new boots, socks, a backpack, tent, hammocks… all new gear… I just moved across the country and need everything, a whole new wardrobe basically… I guess I’ll go anywhere else.
If you're wondering where good customer service has gone, look no further. Every time I go here, I am impressed by their willingness to help, their extensive knowledge, and overall great service. When I have felt unsure, and more than a little intimidated by gear that I'm unfamiliar with, they have never made me feel uncomfortable or foolish for asking questions. Nice job!!
It's 2022 and people are still complaining about masks? Life moves on, ok? This store is laid out similar to sportsman's warehouse by highway 22 and Lancaster. I might say go there instead. REI tends to be overpriced on almost everything, something maybe expected back in mid 2000s era but these days competition exists and they need to catch up The customer service is decent with employees giving to attention and proactively helping. However I'm knocking a star off for sure for the incessant "membership" speeches. Every single employee we interacted with asked us if we were members and if not, speech time! I thought this kind of lame hard sell garbage was relegated to the 90's. I really never even want to bother going back to this store again because the membership speil. Just let it go already, REI.
Edgar, if you're reading this review. This location is AWESOME and I looked for Opal the Teddy Bear! Thus deserving me a free sticker, hope to come back here again! Here is Opal's hiding spot, ;
The Kendra in the shoe department was super informative and helpful. So appreciative of her help and knowledge.
Very knowledgeable and helpful. I signed up for a membership in Alaska over 20 years ago, in the 90s. I used an email that no longer exists. I then moved somewhere that didn't have an REI so I hadn't used the membership since then. Now I have access to REI again and somehow they were able to find my membership and update it to my new information. I was amazed.
On a whole, regular priced items are just slightly overpriced, however the member benefits, customer service, return policy, and frequent significant sales along with buying "like-new" equipment others returned after 1-2 uses make this an extremely valuable membership to have and a place that is now routinely on my gear-shopping rotation.
