I defiantly recommend this store for costume purchases. Went there and found AMAZING finds. A one of a kind handmade costume. This rating recieves a one star due to the fact that the older women was incredibly rude during checkout. I questioned her total and she got very temperamental with me. I stayed calm and just continued to calculate my own total. As the other employee tried to help me, the older women then got frustrated with her employee and treated her poorly. The older women's employees were super sweet and helpful 100% of the time even when they were getting harsh treatment from their co-worker or boss.

I too neglected to read the reviews before entering this twilight zone experience. I have NEVER experienced such disrespectful service. Customer service means everything when being asked to pay $200-$300 to RENT a costume. I was greeted immediately and given quite a bit of information in terms of choices. Although I think they meant well, it was almost too much to process all at once. I wanted a minute or two to look around, but got personal treatment UNTIL I was in the way. The options that were given to me to try on were taken away while I was in the fitting room and the decision about which dress I would be getting was made for me without my confirmation. The older woman started writing my ticket without my knowledge and was more than ticked off when I asked to come back because I lost track of time and needed to get to an appointment. She said, "I assumed you were getting the dress. We don't accessorize unless you're getting something." She basically read me my rights when I pointed out that she had "assumed" when she should just asked. SO incredibly unprofessional. There was no way I could possibly patron their store.
On the contrary, I had a delightful experience with very capable associates at Hadashery. They truly know what customer service should look and feel like.

I had a great experience renting costumes here for a 1920s Speakeasy event. Sometimes the pickup times and drop-off times can be a little confusing as their hours are not always consistent but they aren't a big business and I'm glad to support.

They have some really wonderful finds! However, the customer service is deplorable, at best. DO NOT PUT YOUR DEPOSIT ON A CREDIT CARD, USE CASH ONLY!!!! It’s been almost a month and they still haven’t returned our deposit. When we’ve called to ask about it, they rudely say there’s nothing they can do and to leave them alone. The owner is incompetent (I’m not trying to me mean, but it’s the honest to god truth ), and I think she knows she’s incompetent, so when she gets confused or feels threatened she becomes annoyed and aggressively defensive. At which point, she becomes verbally abusive. On a happy note, there are some really cool items, but the owner has serious mental health issues and will probally verbally abuse you at some point during the transaction, so beware! Oh and we’ve filed a claim with our credit card company to get our deposit back.

YES IT CAN BE THIS BAD! HONESTLY GUYS, I just got back from the store and regretfully didn't read the reviews before I went in!!! DO NOT GO HERE..or go if you want to be yelled at and put in a horrible situation where the store owner yells at you for not fitting into a costume! Honestly I did not understand how a shop can be THIS rude! After trying on 2 that didn't fit (not my fault their sizes are either too big or too small for me) I was told I couldn't try anything else. I refused to pay $100 deposit PLUS $50+ (almost nothing is under $50) for a costume that doesn't fit! I wanted to rent not buy but she kept pushing me to buy and yelled, quite literally, when I said I didn't want to buy a costume I will only wear once. After trying the two costumes on, I was told that "they don't want annoying customers who come there to play dress up" They actually said annoying customers!??! I couldn't believe it....Remember me? Yeah right...forget you...Horrible business! I'm surprised they didn't close down by now! Go 2 miles down the street for better service.
