My car was hit by a Uhaul. Repwest tried to muscle me around, saying I had to book a rental car on my own, and they would only pay $35/day in Seattle!!! for up to two days, even if the shop took longer to repair the car. When I called them on this, I was told, "We're not your average insurance company," and "We can't just afford to pay for you to have a rental car for days on end." They have a Uhaul contract!! They lived up to every stereotype out there about slimy insurance companies trying to gouge the public for profit. Avoid this company like the plague if you can. If you're in this same situation, I recommend having your insurance company file a claim through them on your behalf. This will ensure all costs are covered.
Another person driving a uhaul truck attempted a right turn across two lanes causing my spouse to hit him. We submitted our claim to repwest. The other driver lied and claimed my wife was trying to pass him on the shoulder. We submitted pictures of the road showing there is no shoulder but only a ditch so it is impossible to drive off the road and pass someone. Also asked the police officer who came to the accident to write an updated police reporting pointing out there is no shoulder and driving in the ditch is impossible. Repwest still said they are going with their driver's story and denied my claim. Refused to do due diligence and call back the other driver and confront him about his lies. Do not rent from uhaul unless you purchase insurance other than repwest to cover you and if you see a uhaul truck driving stay clear of it. If they cause an accident with you and it is their fault I would doubt you would get the compensation you deserve.
Tried contacting the claim rep direct. I used the 833 number listed on my estimate and put in the six-digit extension. It rang six times and dropped the call. I tried two more times; same thing. It's hard to do a job when you can't get the insurance company to respond............30 minutes on hold is ridiculous.
If i could give a zero or a negative I would. My insurance company, the Collison shop or myself have been able to get a hold of them ever. They never answer their phones or return phone calls. Just terrible!
Even though there was clear evidence of movers damaging while loading, Crapwest stated" we do not cover what was damaged in transit" effectively making this a complete waste of money. You would be better off traveling back in time and investing in ENRON
Used Ubox for moving, and my display cabinet was destroyed. Apparently, as long as the Ubox itself wasn’t damaged, they are not giving you anything for any damage. Anything that broke is due to you not packing it well enough. Well how could I have packed it any better? What would you suggest Repwest? Should I fill the whole Ubox with marshmallows? The cabinet was tied upright when I packed it, and it was standing upright when I opened the door. The only way the cabinet could have broke is if the entire Ubox was dropped vertically. That wouldn’t be normal handling of cargo by any measure. Avoid this insurance company at all cost!
Rude, poor communication and will find every reason to know approve your claim. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Took over a month to get a call back only to be hung up on by my claims adjuster. She called once before and sat on the phone and didn't say anything. I could literally hear her breathing. This place is a joke and should be out of business
I never do reviews but this place must have a special place reserved for them in whatever afterlife companies go to when they die. Already wrote a long review of what happened on U-hauls website but the gist is this. Uhaul pods got flooded with water due to them being parked on the drainage for the entire parking lot. So got to watch my stuff marinate in parking lot water after it had all been packed. Opened up my pods when transported to final location and greeted with black mold and musty smell everywhere amounting to a few thousand dollars worth of damage. Repwest flips the double bird while backing away saying they can't do anything after I spend hours and hours filling out their paperwork. Just an long dead silence on the phone when I ask them what else we can do. So yeah. Terrible company and wish them a swift demise though I don't see how that could ever happen considering they never pay out insurance claims.
My car got hit and I got a claim number, sent in the documents requested and didn’t hear anything back. I’ve called plenty of time the agent who email me saying he would get back to me . Never returned any emails or calls. I’ve called his manager and she didn’t get back to me at all. I’m following a complaint with the better business bureau, this company is unprofessional and lack communication skills.
My vehicle was hit by someone driving a UHaul. They filed the claim with RepWest before I could file with my insurance. They “sent” someone out to do an estimate, said I can take my car anywhere I wanted to get it fixed as long as they can fix it for the amount on the quote. Well…none of the parts listed on the quote are the correct parts for my car. Their estimate is 1/3 of the actual repair cost and they won’t approve the repair. They will send you out a check hoping you’ll just ask the money and run because they put in huge letter FULL & FINAL SETTLEMENT. Even if you don’t cash it and mail it back to them, they will tell your insurance that your claim was already settled so you can’t actually get your car fixed. Awful and unprofessional! If you get the chance, just file with your insurance and pay the deductible. Let your insurance fight with them. Oh…and since not too many people know about this….I will share it here. Ask for diminished value - they are required to pay you the difference between what your car was worth before the accident and what it’s worth after. Oh and in MD - you have 3 years to file!! You’re welcome!
