We ended up finding this place when we were in a bind after a horrible experience at another hotel in Albuquerque. We found this place. We walked in and asked the front desk if they had availability. Andrea was awesome and got a room for us and our two young kids. She saved our trip! Great customer service Andrea! The rooms were spacious. They had all of the amenities we were looking for. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic!! The pool was great and clean! Rooms were clean! Overall, we were very impressed with this place and our stay!! The property is dated but it’s well maintained. We did notice the maintenance guy there and he was busting his butt working and fixing things!! We absolutely enjoyed the stay here and will be using this chain again when we need to travel! If we had to list some cons: •The trash was piling up around the trash cans around the building. •The pool hours were listed wrong on the pool door. •There was someone camping out in their car right outside of the hotel. It appeared the car was broken down and whoever was living out of it had Boxes and trash everywhere around it. The car had busted windows covered with plastic.. That made the area a little sketchy. Rooms: The rooms were spacious. We had a decent size kitchen in the room as well. We had enough room in there for us and all of our stuff. Overall we are impressed with the rooms!! They are a little dated but they were well maintained. Food & drinks: We were only there for the breakfast in the morning. There was good variety of food to eat and drink. When they ran out of something they refilled it instead of telling everyone that they were out!
I had to evacuate my apartment quickly with my dog for a few days due to an emergency maintenance issue, and found a deal online for Sonesta Suites. This place was awesome! Cooper at the front desk checked us in and was so nice! Even gave my dog a couple travel packs of peanut butter. The room was spotless! I have stayed in many hotels and motels and this is one of the cleanest and most comfortable rooms I have ever stayed in. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to leave! The room was huge with anything you could possibly need for comfortable living, and a great work space if you need to do business while you stay. There was also a huge lawn out back with dog bags/bins for my dog to roam around and do his business. I was amazed at the quality of these accommodations in general but especially for the price point! I have paid double to stay places that weren't nearly as nice or comfortable. It's also right next to the freeway so you can hop on and get to where you're going quickly!
I was on a cross country move with my uncle the week of August 21-24, 2024! We got into Albuquerque around dinner time and stopped in and spoke with the owner Rohan Mehta. Sharp dressed man that gave us a fantastic deal! He really and truly worked with us! He was full and gave us a loft suite, with a dog for an incredibly low but fair price! It what just what we needed to recoup for our last leg of our cross country journey! The room was amazing! We each had our own bed and bathroom and allowed us to sleep in comfort, it was incredibly clean and amazing and I cannot recommend this hotel enough to weary travels!
We stayed here during the week and it was nice and quiet. Place looks old on the outside but inside our room was nice. Wish the layout was different so parking could be closer to rooms. But I had no issues while staying here. Walkability: If you need to walk, stores and food are really close by.
I would avoid this hotel. We booked it along with several other families for a baseball tournament and it is not a location fit for families. There is obvious drug activity in the area as confirmed by hotel staff as "crackheads" because of the Motel 6 next door. It's an older hotel with spacious rooms, and our room was very clean but other families with us did not have the same experience regarding cleanliness of their rooms. We worried about our safety, belongings, and vehicles during our stay. Additionally, my room rate through the third-party tournament booking company was supposed to be $145/nt but the hotel charged us $235/nt. Others in our party were also overcharged. The manager has told me the charges will be corrected but I'm still waiting for the refund. All around, not a good experience. Find another place to stay.
This place is a joke!!! Stay away from it. We were referred to stay here by our tournament director for usssa softball. We had families with kids with us all. 7 of our families had to relocate to other hotels because this place is so bad. The night front desk weekend people are garbage. We asked for towels many times at the pool at the end of the night. The lady on staff said there was none. When we went in to ask for wash cloths you could see their security camera system and clearly their laundry room was full of clean towels. The lady at the front just did not want to do her job. So we have 10 kids standing around a fire trying to dry after getting out of the pool. The night before there was drug activity going on. Another one of our teams families immediately checked out and relocated. We tried leaving this morning and woke up leaving to a cop telling us to get back in our rooms they are looking for a fugitive. Mean while when we finally left the front desk guy is sitting out front smoking like this is something that just always happens. Don’t waste your time here. There are better places to stay and safer. They really should have refunded our whole team and warned us before checking in with kids how bad this place gets every night.
Driving through Albuquerque and needed a one night stay. Found Sonesta ES suites on Priceline. We were a couple road-tripping through. We were not staying in the area as tourists. Just 10 hours in the hotel and pack up and head out. We found the hotel very good. The room was clean and well appointed. More like a small apartment with a kitchen, sitting area, and fireplace. The rate included free breakfast. You don’t expect a lot at these “included” breakfasts. But this breakfast was good and a pleasant surprise. The lady working the breakfast area was keeping everything stocked and clean. The breakfast was a little better than expected. Even the pancake machine made decent hotcakes! Here are a few things to know. This hotel is located on the interstate I-40. So it’s easy on/off the expressway. But it is also close to the highway noise. Our room was away from the road and we did not hear it at all. But the pool is right next to it. So don’t expect any serenity if you plan to use the pool. This is not a serene area. It’s on top of an interstate in a pretty urban area. The area surrounding the hotel is what I would call “okay”. Not posh. But not unsafe either. Just an urban interstate hotel. The neighborhood starts to get a little industrial on the west side of the property. I could see how some might feel concerned this area feels a little seedy. But if you know Albuquerque, this is still quite okay. We booked on Priceline. The checkin was absolutely fine. The checkout in the morning was simple. Just drop the keys. We found everything to work well and had zero issues with the property as some prior reviews stated. We felt it was an above average experience for a hotel in this category and location. We would stay again.
At the end of a 2 week trip, this was simply an overnight stay for my wife and I, along with our 2 dogs. I'd like to return to Albuquerque to actually see the city some day, and I'd absolutely stay here again. Rooms are beautiful, little apartments with a full size fridge and stove top. Great place!Rooms: 5/5
Overall a comfortable place. Clean. That's all I can say about it. However, there are a few things to mention. I was here for 2 weeks with a professional workshop. There were endless problems with billing, charges made that should not have been, credits that made no sense, mounting up into the $1000s. It took another 1/2 weeks to get it all straightened out. The rooms, while large and accommodating, are dark. Expect two or three flights of stairs even if you ask for the ground floor or require accessible accomodations. Don't bother trying to change the situation, the desk won't listen to you. This is illegal and should be acted upon. The rooms are Very dark. Oddly and bizarrely designed to be dark. Small windows tha cannot be opened. The air conditioner cannot be adjusted and the rooms are cold. Even on the very hot days: Cold and *dark* to the point of unpleasantly gloomy. There is a lack of paper products in the rooms and in the bathrooms near the pool. The toilets and floors of the pool are a bathrooms are perpetually filled with used paper towels and tissues. The cable service is inadequate to an absurd degree. No public broadcasting...even though Albuquerque has an active PBS affiliate! No actual movie channels not geared to the tastes of small children, no news channels of any kind. The lobby is perpetually set on sports. The breakfast is sparse to a degree not seen outside of a slum hotel and gone by 8 am. Stale muffins, occasionally underdone eggs, burnt biscuits and something described as "sausage" only starts to describe the mess. The coffee? Stale, weak and burnt. Good thing there's a coffee house nearby. No tea. All of this is patently ridiculous in a state known worldwide for a unique and delicious cuisine. True, this not an interesting part of the city, but seriously, folks? Not even one sopapilla? Recommendation: use it *only* for a day layover from a flight or a stop on the way to somewhat else. And: get your breakfast somewhere else. For the money? Several thumbs down .
My experience at this sonista. Not good at all?Stay away?Do not stay here. Night shift people are good they try to help. But the front desk morning shift are bad. Requested a different room beds at new room were hurting my back. And left some stuff at the other rooms when requested them they would tell me they didnt have the key or to come later had me like all my stay requesting my belongings . Recommendation STAY AWAY FROM HERE!!!
