Free hiking for all with different lengths of hikes. Need to be careful as you might find snakes in the area. Good place to meditate and be peaceful.Visited onWeekendWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
Beautiful preserve with several trail options and approximate walking times posted at the entrance. We took the Wetlands trail and saw tons of geese, turtles, squirrels and birds. This is a peaceful hideaway in the middle of Charlotte. There are some designated picnic tables off the main entrance trail. We also saw some people walking out with fishing poles so there must be some place to fish. This is a great place for a short walk, hike or picnic. Toilets: There is one giant porta potty at the main entrance parking area. Picnic area: A few picnic tables are available off the main entrance paved trail. There is also a large grass area where you could picnic with your own blanket and chairs.
Wonderful nature preserve. Easy trails, although can be a little muddy after rain. All the damns from the beaver are amazing to see in person! Cool bird sightings, diverse growth of trees and it's so quiet, right in the middle of Charlotte. Highly recommend for a short hike or a full day in nature.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
First time visiting this place……only walked to body of water not the trails.
Such a beautiful hidden gem. We saw a lot of activity. Great place to bring your kids, the trails aren't very difficult. Such a great experience all around. The only negative thing I will say is there isn't a big area for parking. Small area when you first arrive. So when it starts to get busy people will park behind you making it difficult to back out. Also heads up bathrooms are a Porta potty at the front.
Beautiful nature preserve. A trail was closed when we came, but it was also a few days after a significant weather event, so we were not surprised. It was a tad muddy that day, so plan for that if it has rained recently. Trails were easy to follow and I look forward to returning!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
I believe we did the wetland and Irwin Creek trail. Really nice walk and a bonus there was a entrance in our neighborhood. It is pretty easy to follow the path and not get lost. The views of nature are great at point there is a spot sit and look over a lake. It is very peaceful and the kids loved running and pointing out all the things they recognized.
This is such a hidden gem. There are a few different trails that are short or you can do them all for a longer journey. The canopy cover is great. It was raining when we went but we did not get wet.
Ribbon walk is a nice place to take a walk with your dog and/or a friend. It is not very crowded during the week morning. It's crowded during the weekends. There are several trails for you to explore. I wish there were more path markers; it's harder to tell the paths during the fall and winter. Warning: The bathroom is a porta-potty near the outside gate. Edit: We got lost, and we weren't the only ones. They changed the trails, but not the map. We ran into a guy and his dog that were lost as well. They followed us when we double back. There's a new map up now, but getting lost was not fun. I am removing only 1 star because they put up a new map.
