Rich's House of Cakes

I’ve been coming here for 20 years to buy last-minute frozen cakes for different occasions, they were always really good. This time looks like the prices went up, $38 just for a frozen 10 inch cake! She told me the cake had a layer of chocolate cake and a layer of yellow cake but it was all yellow! Also the dye they use in the blue frosting is way too strong, it dyes anything that touches it blue, and it doesn’t even wash off. Also the frosting was not very good, too sugary and I feel I could do better at Walmart.

I remember getting cakes for my birthday many years ago from Rich's and they were always great. I decided to order a cake for my mom's birthday and I am very happy with it. Got the color just how I wanted it and didn't make it too sweet just as I had asked. Great customer service as well! Definitely recommend and I will be coming back

The one star is solely for the horrible customer service. We ordered an anniversary cake and the design was completely different from what we ordered. We went to talk to the owner, who by the way is the most arrogant and unprofessional guy ever. He didn't take ownership of the service, he put the blame on his employee calling her a "MORON". Seriously?! He literally argued with us, instead of taking responsibility of HIS shop. I asked them specifically to call me when they deliver the cake at the party venue and they didn't and I realize now why as the design was completely different than what we ordered. Moreover, their cakes are expensive compared to other bakeries in the area.They only accept CASH which is very inconvenient! I admit the cake was moist and very tasty. No complaints there. But we won't be going back to the bakery again because of that guy's attitude towards his customers. If ONLY the taste of the cake is important and you are willing to pay a LOT for it with terrible customer service then this place is it but if you're looking for a good priced cake that you will be happy with find some other place

Purchased a cake for my 24th birthday. Had to pick it up a day early since they’re closed Sunday’s. One of the owners told me to keep it frozen until 7 hours before I want to eat it, then thaw it at room temperature. That is exactly what I did, it was even at room temperature an extra 30-45 minutes before it was cut and eaten. The filling was still completely frozen. I ordered a strawberry banana filling but only received strawberry and an overwhelming amount of whipped cream. On top of that, the cake itself was dry. I’ve ordered from here before, so I know the cakes are good. But I was very disappointed this time, as it was the only cake I had to eat on my birthday. I contacted David via email to inform him. And in order to get a a refund, I need to return the cake. I informed him the cake was eaten as it was the only one I wanted and the only one purchased for my birthday. The conversation and lack of good customer service from the owner, is making this whole experience even worse. I will not be returning nor will I recommend Rich’s for future cake needs.

We ordered a graduation cake for a family member. We brought in a custom shape and Rich's was able to make the cake for us. We chose our ingredients, filling, color scheme etc. Everyone enjoyed the cake. It wasn't too sweet, or should I say, it was just perfect. Price was just perfect as well. Thank you Rich's!!!

Great cakes! Really sad to see a for sale sign. My parents wedding cake was from here and many family birthday cakes as well... I remember one in particular, it was a tweety bird cake for my 7th birthday... 23 years ago. I was ecstatic. Thanks for providing many memories to our family! I can still smell the sweet aroma of your shop! Good luck to you in the future!

My mother ordered a $38 "custard filled" cake from here and we were very disappointed. The filling was the exact same whipped frosting as the outside of the cake. When we called to ask about the filling we were told that the custard was mixed into the filling. After telling him that it was the exact same as the outside frosting we were told to shop somewhere else if we did not like how he made it. Even if the owner wasn't rude the cake was still about a 3/10. Would not recommend.

The cakes are horrible, the frosting job is wack and it's way to expensive for a plain cake. We asked for pearls and they said it would be around $200 when the cake was completely plain, I could have gotten a way better cake from Walmart Or even a gas station. I can't believe this place is still open when many people have had multiple bad experiences here; I'd recommend this place to no one. I'd rather go to another bakery then go here, further more the employee That was working there was very rude and they didn't have many people working there. There was also nothing to cover the cakes so there was flies everywhere which causes a health violation and the cakes look like they haven't been changed out for new ones which is also another health violation. There was also no organization and is was just a mess I wouldn't be surprised if someone got sick from their cakes.

Most horrible place to buy a cake. I have purchased cakes from this shop once in a while for birthdays and the cakes were always okay. However, I went to buy a birthday cake recently for my brother's birthday and it was the worst experience ever. Basically, I walked into the shop and asked the lady about a particular flavor and size. She said that they had one in the back, so she packaged it for me. After I paid for it, I took it home to thaw for later that night. In the evening, I opened the box and noticed that the top of my cap had hair all over it and a dead fruit fly. On the side of the cake, I found a big dead fly. I called and emailed the owner but there was no response. The next day I brought it back and the same lady who sold it to me was there. I told her what I found and all she did was refund me the cake price but there was no apology. Never went back.
