Rita B Offshore Fishing

Was in town for work and needed to get a day out on the water while here. Contacted Capt Ed and he told me what the best trip for catching fish was currently. Setup an afternoon trip for a couple days later and met as previously discussed. Capt Ed gave us a safety briefing and layout of the boat as soon as we boarded. We headed out to make bait and after we acquired what he thought would be the sufficient amount we headed out to the first fishing spot. Didn’t even take 5 minutes to have the first striper hooked up. For the next few hours we had a great time catching stripers non stop from 26-34”. Would highly recommend Capt Ed on the Rita B. Class act guide with a great boat and excellent tackle.

Best time fishing ever thanks to Captain Ed. Caught a ton of haddock and whitefish. Captain was knowledge friendly and welcoming. Definitely plan to do this again next time we are up here. Highly recommend!

Some friends and I were visiting Portland for the long weekend from Philadelphia in July. I grew up in Maine and wanted to show them something special, so I booked with Ed on the Rita B. Thank goodness we did - it was far too hot downtown and being on the water was the best place to be. The Rita B. is a looker, with indoor plumbing to boot! Ed took us off the coast to explore one of the nearby islands we decided to do a cruise rather than a fishing charter. After a lovely ride, we pulled into "Cocktail Cove", anchored, and Ed paddled us all to the island shore. He and his wife Abby showed us a WW2 fort, a beautiful cove that was perfect for wading/hunting for shells, and tons of hiking trails! On the return trip, Ed displayed his local knowledge and took us past an outcropping of rocks that seals like to relax on. It was the perfect day. BYOB too!

ED IS A LIFESAVER! We had another boat chartered and the guy flaked out last minute after delaying us once before. Fortunately we got into contact with Ed and Rita B on super short notice. Ed took us out and he had a plan, when conditions changed he reacted, couldn't be happier with how the trip went. Thanks Ed we will be back for sure.

We had a GREAT experience with Captain Ed on the Rita B.! We went sightseeing, followed by fishing across different points on the bay. Then, we went lobstering , which was a big treat! Captain Ed is very knowledgeable and all about safety - this made for a pleasant experience with no worries. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed! And…if you tend to get motion sickness, take Dramamine 30 min beforehand. We did as a precaution, and we had a great experience on the water and waves ! Again, highly recommend!

Ed was fantastic! Prompt, attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We had a blast spending the day on the water fishing and almost caught our limit of cod. Ed was accommodating and did his best to make sure we had a great time. Would definitely recommend and we will be using him again for ocean adventures

Worse deep sea fishing experience ever. It seemed as if our captain’s goal was to make sure everyone got sick to cut the trip short. Complete disregard for safety even though we had two young children out for their first deep sea fishing experience. Never again!

Really enjoy fishing with Capt Ed. His boat has an area to get out of the weather and he has the knowledge to put me and my friends on fish. Can't wait to go again soon!
