It was only one cashier she was busy doing a delivery order. The other worker went on break. Then other worker came in to work and was just standing around. It was myself and five other customers in line plus a customer that needed assistance in self checkout. This worker then was very rude stated she hasn't clocked in yet, but she is standing behind the counter seeing the situation and not helping out. Poor customer service. I told her not to start the New Year off by being rude. There was no need for that at all.
I often go to the 344 Avenue X Rite Aid store in Brooklyn for both prescription medications and various products. My August 24th, 2022, visit was particularly great because one of the store associates, Linda, was especially helpful in assisting me in locating the items I was seeking. She was courteous, professional, helpful, and upbeat. When I went to the cashier station to pay for my purchases, I was surprised to see Linda there once again in a cashier role to handle my purchase. I have always had good experiences at this Rite Aid store but the service was even more excellent than usual this time and I went online to put in a commendation for Linda at the Rite Aid Site. When the Rite Aid site asked if I wanted to do a Google Review as well, I jumped at the opportunity. Rite Aid is a great place to shop.
Yesterday I bought one pack of Dayquil and one bottle of milk at my neighborhood pharmacy Rite-Aid at 344 Avenue X Brooklyn NY 11223. The total of the two items was $14.48. During the checkout I was holding $20 in my hand to pay for the purchases. I was there with my friend. Then the cashier asked me for my ID. I and my friend looked at each other in surprise and the back to the cashier. Why do you need my ID? Was it because I bought the pills? But they are sold without a prescription. The cashier was silent and looking back to me. I told him that I did not have an ID on me right now. Then he asked me my birthday. I told him. Then he asked me to enter my phone number for my account, did something from his end, punched the receipt and gave me $5 change from my $20 bill. Usually they always give coins with change, and here it was exactly five dollars. Very strange! I decided to check the receipt. I looked at it and found a strange third item – KIDCENTS CONTRIBUTION. I asked the cashier what it is. He hesitated and began to explain to me that this was a donation. I told him that I did not agree to any donations and did not sign for it. Then he began to tell me that I pressed something there during the checkout and I allegedly signed up for this program. I only entered my phone number and pressed Enter. I never sigh for any contributions especially the recurring once. I prefer to give my donations to people I know. This is my rule. I began to tell him to return this money to me 0.52 $. He said he couldn't do it. At that moment, two more workers arrived. One of them began to tell me that the next time I go shopping, I will need to tell them to turn off this feature. I said that this was a fraud of buyers, that I had not signed up for any donations and that this was theft without my knowledge. Then another worker told me, come here, I'll turn it off for you now. And again he began to convince me that I had pressed some button to subscribe to this donation. I have never signed up for this feature and never paid for it before. It turns out that the cashier, without asking my consent, added this function to me. And that is why he asked for my birthdate. This is illegal and dishonest. It turns out that dishonest employees – thieves work at Rite-Aid. None of them apologized, but on the contrary, they tried to make a fool out of me. Therefore, dear citizens, check your receipts without leaving the cash desk, especially when you are given a round sum for change. KIDCENTS CONTRIBUTION is a RECURRING program that rounds up the amount to the first dollar. The amount of my check was 14:48. And $0.52 was rounded up to 15 to give exactly five dollars change from $20. The thieves! I do not feel sorry for these $0.52, but the cashier should have asked me if I agree to such a transaction. Without my consent, this is theft.
Wait lines are always full. There’s always that customer who has a bunch of discrepancies with coupons and or returns. It holds up the one out of two cashiers they have and 20 people are lined up.
They closed at 1:24 instead of 1:30 and there was a line of people turned away. When I asked if they could simply check if my medicine was in stock they said to come back at 2. Rude. Dismissive. Huge waste of time.
They used to have a great receptionist very quick and sufficient now they hired incompetent women so slow that I had to wait over half an hour in line to get my meds , she would take about ten min per person , I had to switch pharmacies
Slow staff nobody wants to work they move like turtles. The machines they got in the front always break or don't work might as well get rid of them at this point and hire more enthusiastic cashiers who arent miserable.
Drugstore in pharmacy terrible. They always messing my orders. They keep filling medicine that I am no longer take. This medicine is dangerous for my life if I will take it in same time with newest. And it is definitely waste because both medicine are expensive. Insurance will pay for it, ok, and ok, and after this we surpirised why our country in so big self debt. Medicine never ready when you come even if you call and ask for refill 2 days ago. People in drug store absolutely unprofessional, techs don't understand whats going all, they looks like as people from street working in pharmacy 1st day in their life. Pharmacists? Do they have a license at all? If the pharmasit ! telling me "we cant fill azythromycin for you, because doctor prescribed 15, but zpak only 6... call to your doctor." What are you talking about?? Of course you can! You have bottle of azythromycin on your shelf! not only 6 pack box! And please call doctor by yourself if you have question to him! I had long patience but enough is enough rite aid. Moving from this place to independent pharmacy asap and recommend to do same for all other people. update 08/09/22: pharmacy just rejected to give me emergency supply for my antidepressants. good job Rite aid.
To be fair… I thought the first time the manager might of been in a bad mood. Nope, Fefe or whatever her name is, is simply not a peoples person. I usually don’t post these but management fully deserves this. 1st experience: boxes stacked in the middle of rush hour, I was trying to get bounty and toilet paper. Her comments: “just tell us what you want and we will go get it”. Looked at us as if were idiots if we don’t know what we want. I don’t know about most people- I could care less which brand I buy of tp- I look at the prices- which I couldn’t see as the boxes were blocking everything . Anyways, rude experience number one. 2nd experience: We came in to buy Christmas lights, asked if we can check if all the light work properly, her reply: “Uhhh… yeah”. I’m like okay, where do you have an outlet. Her reply: “Uhh… by the register- as if I was born inside of Rite Aid next to her. Okay… I go to the register, dude says he doesn’t have an outlet to check. Not his fault, horrible manager. Burnt out, not a peoples person and shouldn’t be anywhere near a management position. Too bad no other Rite Aids in the area.
This store has everything you need. Regular prices, nothing special. Store is clean and staff is friendly. Sometimes there are lines but within 5min…evening staff is great too :
