I made an appointment here a month ago to get my covid 19 updated booster shot as availability was limited for appointments. I got an email confirming my appointment today and then drove 25 minutes to go get my vaccine. When I got there, the pharmacy was just closed with no explanation. The person at the counter was confused and rude and suggested I try another Rite Aid. I couldn’t believe they didn’t even send an email out saying that my appointment had to be canceled so I could reschedule. I made a new appointment elsewhere but it’s another 3 weeks out. Very disappointing and unprofessional.
I have been going here for many years for my prescriptions. Since the pandemic, everything has changed. Phone lines are constantly busy not even just for the pharmacy, I cant even call to get the automated system without a busy tone and the pharmacy rarely picks up. I find the employees pleasant but they are clearly understaffed and have been for a pretty unacceptable amount of time. This store used to be 24 hours and now it's getting more and more limited and understaffed. I would go somewhere else for your needs if possible. Edit: I have called since before 9am when the pharmacy opened. I have called no less than 15 times. No one has answered the entire day.
If you have any other options possible, I would recommend you explore them. I used this pharmacy for convenience as they were close to my business, but the service is so poor I am trying to move my prescriptions. There is no consistency with staff, and if you need to call, be prepared to receive different answers every time. As I work in healthcare myself I blame much of what I experience there on Covid, but also Rite Aid as a corporation as they are clearly not providing the sort of work environment that attracts/retains great staff. Having a basic prescription filled has become a bartering event that often requires two visits. If I am out or nearly out, they will fill my prescription, but will usually tell me to come back in a few days during hours I am scheduled to be with clients. I have witnessed a patient try to pick up a prescription for antibiotics and be turned away, which is an obvious health and safety risk. I would assume they would be happy to be rid of customers, but providing basic information required by Kaiser in order to do so will not be provided to help me leave. Again, as I work in a demanding job in healthcare, I do understand there are parts of the job that are frustrating and less desirable. However, I knew what I was signing up for, and I don't punish those I serve with incompetence and neglect. I can only assume that Rite Aid is providing poor compensation and poor management, and unfortunately everyone workers and customers have to deal with the impact.
The service at this Rite-Aid, and Rite-Aid in general, has slid off a cliff post pandemic. You can't get them to answer the phone. You have to come into the store for any minor issue with your prescriptions. The online portal doesn't have adequate functionality to compensate for a gross lack of customer service staff. I'm actively seeking an alternative through my insurance to using Rite-Aid. I can't justify spending 30-60 minutes every time I need a prescription filled/refilled. It's ridiculous.
They have the worst pharmacy ever! The workers are rude and don't seem to know what they are doing! They never answer the phone it just rings and rings. They always claim they need an authorization, even though my Dr has sent it over! It's ridiculous. The staff used to be amazing over there an now they have all new people. We're going to Safeway now! Even trying to transfer has been a nightmare!!!
Worst run pharmacy ever. Where do I start. You can’t call them for one. Either they won’t answer the phone or it doesn’t work. Either way… makes no sense. My latest experience was an hour long wait in line only to find out my prescriptions were not filled. If I could have called maybe I could have avoided that. They had 3-4 people in the back working and a new person on counter. They didn’t move anyone up to get the line/wait down while the new person struggled by themselves. Poorly run, customers are clearly not a priority. I would avoid at all costs… they should just close the pharmacy and put it out of its misery.
This place is horrible! Take your prescriptions somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle trying to get them filled here, because they don't seem to have the staff they need, or really care about helping customers. Between this location and the one in Oregon City, I've spent hours on the phone, and made several trips into the store to try and get one single prescription filled! They've bounced me back and forth between the two locations, and they've hung up on me several times. I'll never shop here again.
I used to be impressed with this pharmacy and I think that’s why the current lack of customer service seems so apparent. I’ve been going to this pharmacy for over 3 years, but it’s too frustrating to deal with this. I am no longer a customer. Hopefully, someone can help improve processes. I’m sure the staff is needing support.
Before I post my review I wanted to say that Steve, the associate I would give him 5 stars if I could. The pharmacist who was working this morning I couldn’t see his name badge but wow, so rude to Steve for no reason and it was not ok. Respect your elders, this man is overworked and underpaid I'm sure, give him some grace.. jeez. I had a prescription sent in in the 7th of this month, it’s now the 20th and it’s still not ready.. I understand being short staffed but this is heinous and I’m lucky that my prescription isn’t a life or death situation. nobody answers the phones either and it’s hit or miss when somebody does answer because some of the employees really do have rotten attitudes at times.. I will be switching pharmacy’s at this point.
If i could give a lower rating I would. I don’t get my prescriptions filled here very often but when I do, there is always a glitch. It’s not ready when they said it was or they did not ask me for the correct paper work so when I drive to get it, it’s not ready because they did not have the information. All around an awful experience every time.
