River's Edge Hotel and Spa

Our room was very small but nice. Clean on the inside. The outside of the building could use some love. There’s no pool or hot tub. No full service spa as it says online. We had a good experience but for the price I would expect a little more. I paid for a river view room and that “view” was lackluster, hidden by trees; balcony was dirty. The service was great though and the location was convenient. I slept very well, all in all was a good stay.

Remember to use Hoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a stay. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and typically will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This resort is one of the most well known in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you choose this place you for sure won't regret it. Check in was fast and easy, room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Balcony on the river view room was well worth the upgrade. A small incident with my vehicle in the parking lot was caught by night patrol and reported to me at check out to take care of it. I've stayed here twice and look forward to visiting again!

Great location. Easy access to anywhere in Portland. Rooms well appointed. We ended up with an ADA room so it was inconvenient for us. The shower needed a lot of adjusting and the AC was loud. Bed was very nice. They are doing construction. No noise from any work. However there is no restaurant or bar in the hotel. Several breakfast spots nearby. Overall nice spot but call first to find out where you will be. Overlooks the river but with all the trees and bushes you can't really see the river from the first floor room.

The hotel itself is under renovation which anyone should be understandable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the view from our room overlooking cottonwood Bay was wonderful! Our room while I feel was overpriced was very spacious and clean. The only other downside was the shower, not exactly sure what's going on there. The floor looked like it was recently redone and that a toddler had the fun time caulking the points where walls met floor. The shower curtain was short about a foot from the floor and water spilled out onto the bathroom floor so maybe the drain wasn't keeping up? Other than those two things we had a pleasant stay.

I was excited to stay in a nice hotel on the waterfront which advertised a spa, restaurant, hot tub and many other amenities. Upon arrival, I was charged $80 more than I was quoted on Expedia, but told some of it would be refunded. No amenities were available due to remodeling which we were unaware of. Our first room was large, but when attempting to wash hands, both sinks ran with cold water and then eventually turned brown. The night shift employee was apologetic and helpful and moved us to a smaller but cleaner room. There were small, weird nuances like the toilet seat being the wrong shape, the cable not being plugged in, etc. The next morning I realized that my card had been charged 2 more times, resulting in almost $600 being taken out for one night. When checking out, the front desk employee who was different than the night shift was curt and less than polite about the overcharging. She interrupted us when we tried to explain what happened and trying to show her our bank statement with proof of the charges. After talking with my bank, I finally got the correct amount refunded and was charged appropriately, but it took 4 days to clear up. Long story short, this hotel is not worth the price or the hassle!

Amenities are really lacking at this hotel. They don’t have a spa, a restaurant, or a bar - despite listing all three on their website when I booked. They don’t have room service either. This hotel is good if you have a dog, but beware they provide nothing in terms of dog amenities either. Other hotels in Portland will provide a dog bed, doggie bowls and a treat or two, for the same cost. Additionally, the balconies are not private… There’s basically a sheet in between you and your neighbors “balcony” area. You can see each other and hear each other. And if you do have a pet, you cannot open the balcony door and have them go from your room onto your balcony, because it’s not enclosed. I will say, the view is good and it’s right on the Willamette River walking path, which is nice. Additionally, the staff is not overly friendly at all. I wouldn’t say they’re rude, but they’re just straight to the point. No upgrade options, no welcome drink, nothing. Compared with other Portland hotels, this place isn’t worth the money.

Overall, the hotel was a good deal for the price - the AC worked well, which was super important during the heat wave and had a fridge + microwave they brought up to the room. The wifi was fast and reliable! There is no breakfast available, despite whatever booking site you use and the room wasn't the ~nicest~ but was clean. The location was perfect - about 10 minutes away from anything you'd want to do in Portland.

We came in from a very long drive, hoping for a relaxing spa and comfortable hotel experience.. overall the room was “nice”. The bed was very uncomfortable. Although the sheets where soft. Random weird stains on the curtains and the balcony was dirty and presented no privacy between other rooms. Our “river” view was subpar, more like a view of the jogging trail. Over priced. Go elsewhere. We won’t be returning.

Don’t stay here. You massively over pay for a bed and a bathroom, then they hit you with a mandatory $30 parking fee when you check in. Not valet but simply for their parking lot. There was soggy water damage on the carpet still wet the balconies are separated by weird tarps. Balcony light didn’t work. Bed was very average and creaky, but hey there was a bathtub. No bar, no breakfast or coffee. I was too disappointed to truly relax in my almost $200 room. Had better stays in a motel 6.
