The Riverbank house has helped me immensely regain a footing in my life. It encourages a strong community based environment while balancing recovery based small groups and fun outdoor activities. Can’t say enough about this place. If you are tired of insurance/state run, 28 day programs that feel more like lockdown, you need to check this place out.

This is by far one of the worst if not THE WORST treatment facilities in the north east. They are run by an egotistical, workaholic who manipulates families into paying more money for treatment. He uses his the residents as slaves which he calls a “work program”. I believe he’s getting help for his issues at this time.
The bookkeeper who once referred to me as a “thug” ( I’m an American American male) treated me differently the other mostly Caucasian residents. She continues to send hate emails to me since they kicked me out of my house 10 days before Christmas. My girlfriend who was pregnant and I had absolutely nothing and no where to go. This isn’t the last time you will hear about my story. I’ve just not gotten back on my feet emotionally and physically and Feel ready to talk about it.
Please heed my warning and never send your love ones to this facility. There’s much better places with more qualified individuals running them!

The Riverbank House is the reason I'm alive, from the supportive and knowledgeable staff to the very tight community of brothers I've come to know, this place not only has saved my life, but it helped me create a new life in place of my old broken one. From the moment I stepped in the door I was shown care and compassion that I had been seeking but hadn't been showing myself. With the many pathways approach I learned about the idea of putting down the substances, but more importantly, I learned about the tools of creating a substantial life of accountability, discipline, camaraderie and having a great time without the use of substances. The Riverbank House has so much to offer in terms of amenities, but of course the most important aspects of my journey came from the people within the community that loved me when I couldn't love myself, and showed me the path to a life second-to-none.

I struggled for over ten years with a heroin addiction. I was in and out of countless 28 day programs constantly. It was not until the complete change in my mindset that was facilitated by the long term spiritual model taught at the riverbank house that the revolving door aspect of my life stopped. I owe my life to The Riverbank House.

From what I understand The Riverbank House is helping to change peoples lives for the better. Can't disagree with that. It's not free, however, sobriety comes with a hefty price tag.
