Solid course for amateur golfers. The course is a mixture of short Par 4s and long par 3s. I shoot ~100s-110s, and it was a good course to work on my game. Downsides were some rough spots on the fairway and the thick rough made it tough to find your ball. Overall, an excellent deal for the price! $16 to walk 9 holes at the time of this posting
We enjoyed playing rock creek Park. The only downside is the turf is kinda tall, even in the middle of the fairways, and it's easy to lose your ball. But I think we found almost as many as we lost. Ha. They had weird mats at some tees. We played the front 9 and the back five. Pretty park.
Visiting my daughter and son in law who live 7 minutes from the course. Went to check it out and eventually played it. Marcus and DeLester were in the club house and were extremely friendly and answered questions professionally. The track has a great layout and if you walk, you will feel it. But, greens were slow and fairways needed work. Help is on the way I understand. I am a member of a club and Marcus and DeLester were much nicer than where I belong. Paul from Florida
To be honest- this course is in rough shape as of a July 2021. Come Here with low expectations and you will be ok for the nine holes that are open :
Pretty disappointed overall. Older employee with the straw hat was rushing us the first 3 out of the 9 holes. Same employee asked us to return our cart by the 8th hole. The course paths weren’t clear for the golf cart. Course seemed very beat up and worn out overall.
Friendly staff and a fun, laid back course. I have always preferred here to the country clubs since you can get a cart here and there are far fewer rules ie. dress code, food, carts, etc.
Played here for years and it was always enjoyable for what it was. However, went back recently and will never return. They turned the back 9 into a "5 hole course" that is barely playable. Greens are either sandy or have large blades of grass growing out of them. Hole layouts are bizarre and not enjoyable. Took a peak at a couple holes on the front 9 that they "preserved" and those greens and fairways don't look like they're in much better shape. Final grievance: the price. It cost $29 at the latest possible twilight 6pm to play those 9 terrible holes. Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles into VA or MD for much higher quality golf for pretty much the same price or a few bucks more.
I love this golf. I wish they would open a 18 holes again
Very challenging course. Conditions are spotty. Fairways were generally quite good. Greens rolling ok nut several rough areas on quite a few of them. Short course but smallest Greens in the area. Also a brisk walk with the constant undulating terrain.
Tough course to get to and I suggest riding even if you plan to play 9. Tough but playable layout. Definitely a unique experience that I recommend at least once if you live are from the DMV and love golf.
