Rocky Hill is an incredible school which has lived up to every expectation of mine and my family. I have been an educator in New England for the past 20 years and have never come across a school so devoted to each individual student and to ensuring each learner thrives. The teachers at RHS genuinely and authentically me every child where he/she is academically, social/emotionally and in a respectful and positive way. Both of my children attend RHS and have come to understand themselves as learners and hence advocate for their own needs and learning styles empowered by the challenges teachers provide. I have visited numerous school throughout RI and MA and hav heard each promise many things. RHS has lived up to every promise they made and remains open for communication abou any request I may have beyond these initial promises. If you are looking for a school where your child will be happy, academically challenged, engaged at a new level of excellence, play sports, sail away having launched off of the schools' private docks, develop self-confidence, learn to solve problems independently and with peers, be mindful, be accountable and be successful, choose Rocky Hill School

Rocky Hill has been an amazing education and experience for my son. The exposure to the arts, music and sports has given him the opportunity to uncover talents that we were not aware of. He has learned to love sailing, embrace music and become a natural musician in addition to being an outstanding student and contributor to his class. I would recommend Rocky Hill to anyone looking for a small school with unlimited opportunities.

Rocky Hill has been one of the most influential parts of my life and has shaped the person that I am today. I have attended the school since pre-school and am about to graduate in my senior year. Rocky Hill is a very accepting place that not only lets students be themselves but encourages them to pursue the things they enjoy. When I wanted to start a club at my school, the teachers and administration made it an easy process and the community supported my efforts. Teachers know more about their students than just their names and have been very supportive throughout my academic experience. They are always available for extra help or are there for you when you need to discuss anything. I've been so fortunate to grow up with people that accept me for who I am, encourage me to explore what I am interested in, and push me academically to be my best and ready for college. While the school is small students have many opportunities to get involved through sports and clubs built into the schedule and projects like 8th grade expositions, senior internship, and senior seminar. If you are looking for a place full of accepting driven people where you are able to explore your academic interests and our school motto "Know Thyself" Rocky Hill could also be your second home.

Poor administration in the Upper School and office of admissions. Does not follow through with promises of community, integrity and innovation. Aristocratic tendencies make it difficult for students or parents to be a part of decision-making. Be weary of this, the school is overly conservative regardless of how "innovative" their advertising says they are. The class size is amicably small, but only a small handful of teachers are effective. The school has many teachers that are ineffective and fail to educate students year after year. The administration does not let go failing teachers, even after multiple complaints from parents over the years. The way they teach is through hours of homework, not in-class instructing. Despite the claim that students utilize the waterfront often, visits are brief and rare, (with the exception of the marine science class.) On another note, the dress code is dehumanizing to women even in the sports teams. Student government elections are supposedly democratic, however Prefects are chosen by faculty, and students have absolutely no voice in who is elected. With no voice for the students, I find it hard to understand how Rocky Hill can call itself a community. It is sad that so many students and parents have been conned by the picture-perfect façade.
*I am a graduate (Cum Laude) after spending 8 years attending this school.
