RMOC is the best outfitter in the Arkansas River valley. They were very helpful in making sure I had a great experience and fulfilled my goals. I received a teaching grant to learn to white water kayak and SUP. I had an all day private kayak L1 and L2 with Corey. He was awesome. He was personable, helpful, challenged me, encouraged me, gave great examples, and made sure I was prepared for greater challenges. I had an all day private lesson with Hal on SUP. Hal gave me a great foundation on the lake in the morning making sure I had the skills for an afternoon on the river. His encouragement and confidence in my skills allowed me to have a great down river experience down river. To sum up my week I took the L3 kayak class with Dillon and Kai. They were awesome guides/teachers and challenged the group to multiple ferries, peel outs, eddy catches, surfs, and roll progressions. Their teaching styles played off of each other and they both were able to challenge every student to do their best and take a risk.
I want to thank Rocky Mountain Outdoor Center for an incredible trip down Browns Canon. Our raft guide Corey was hands down amazing! He safely guided a raft full of Cosmetologists and a 7 year old down the river. He was also fun and funny. We enjoyed the trip. You guys are awesome! Next summer I fully plan on bringing my family.
Had a wonderful 1/2 day 4hr tour of Brown's Canyon along the Arkansas River. Our instructor Hal was very skilled, knowledgeable of the area and gave clear precise instructions to my group keeping us safe. The group consisted of THREE 1st-timers. All I can say is "WOW!" It was an AWESOME and unforgettable experience. The staff at RMOC were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them. Worth the drive. Worth the fear of eminent danger lol...and Worth Every Penny. -Thanks RMOC
This place was the best that I've had in Whitewater rafting and I've had quite a few! The staff is friendly and helpful in getting everyone of all ages acquainted with rafting rapids. The professional guide I was with was entertaining, very experienced on this river, and made sure everyone was included in having a good time! They also took the time to outline all safety guidelines, how to react in certain situations and good "heads up" notices on what was coming. Great job. Thanks, John
Great, friendly service. They rented us a raft and gear because my husband is experienced enough to guide us down Brown's Canyon. They made sure he knew his stuff before just letting us take off down the rapids, which I appreciated. The store/rental area is really neat. They have a kid-friendly zone and a very nice, orderly shop with fun merch. The only thing I wish they offered were drybag rentals along with the rest of the gear. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in rafting the area.
I was at RMOC with First Descents, and it was amazing. They were super compassionate and accommodating to disabilities, and I had an adrenaline pumping adventure rafting down Browns Canyon!
This was my first rafting trip and our family had a blast! The guides were knowledgeable and skilled. We were split between 2 boats, which was not ideal but fine. Our guide did not talk much, sharing a few details about the river. Our trip was mostly silent. The other guide was much more outgoing, talking about the rocks, the bridge, etc. Our family on that boat had a lot of fun, raising their paddles and cheering after each class 3 rapid. I would definitely go again, but the guide really does make a difference.
Out of the 40 something tour & guide services I would rank this one as #1, the kindness, the helpfulness, the professionalism is awesome and thru the roof, Ryan is an awesome guide/trainer. I recommend this place to everyone that is looking for a guided raft or a kayak experience of the upper Arkansas River this is the place to go. Thanks to Conrad, Ryan, and Jed I had the time of my life here.
Kate, Kai, Amparo, Kevin, and David were FANTASTIC guides! I am a beginner-level kayaker only calm lake experience and I felt very safe in their hands learning how to whitewater kayak. I especially appreciated how they made an effort to explain everything we were going to do, step-by-step, before we did it. When I had concerns, they listened and adapted their teaching to support my needs. 10/10 would recommend RMOC.
Just had a blast of a week kayaking thanks to RMOC! We had a lot of beginners in my group including myself. The instructors were amazing. I've never felt safer than while out with Kai despite doing something exhiliratingly terrifying to me. Tara helped me stop constantly spinning while we didn't stop laughing! I kept repeating to aim my headlights while on the water haha. Amparo was incredibly validating of our newbie experience while being an amazing teacher. Thanks so much for an awesome week! Can't wait to be back!
