The BEST Ethiopian food in the DC area well, actually anywhere that I’ve eaten! Everything is wonderful and the timatim fitfit makes a great appetizer!
Wonderful food in a casual atmosphere. My mom, Aunt, and I wanted good Ethiopian food without driving into DC. This restaurant lived up to its reviews. I’m a vegetarian, and got the six veg platter. Loved the spicy lentils the most. My mom and aunt had a combination of lamb dishes and vegetables and were also happy with their shared choice. The restaurant was generous with there injera, too. Parking was easy, unlike many places in DC. It is a small restaurant and family run. We will definitely return.
By FAR the best Ethiopian food I’ve had in years. Me and my little sister basically drive an hour each way to come here and the food is immaculate! This is primarily a carry out, but there IS seating. We didn’t know that on our first visit but the amazing food made us forget the ambiance in the blink of an eye. Last time we went here it was a little more cozy and warmly decorated than the first few times. If you want REAL Ethiopian food, come here!!!
We have ordered from Rohobot many times. It is our go-to restaurant for Ethiopian. My wife has celiac disease and cannot eat anything with gluten or contaminated gluten, and the owners and staff always take great care to ensure our food is gluten-free. On top of that consideration, it is just delicious.
This is HANDS DOWN the BEST Ethiopian in the DMV. This restaurant is about 40 minutes an hour in traffic from my house, but I promise it’s worth it. I come here with my sister and we share a veggie combo with yebeg tibs. And it’s delicious every time. It’s typically very quaint and quiet inside, but once the food comes out, you instantly hear music in your head. It’s SO delicious— No exaggeration. You can tell the food is all cooked with love. Always fresh and always superb! Like mwah: chefs kiss!
The quality of the food is going downhill. This is the second or third time the food has been so dry we don't want to finish it. Overcooked tibs, hard dry yellow lentils that resemble old corn, stiff undercooked beets, fibrous hard to chew greens, smaller quantities of shiro and bigger loads of injera... It's bad enough we'd ask for money back. We loved this place. What happened?
Was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the owners/workers were very kind and helpful with recommendations.
I really enjoy the delicious food. It is really amazing to have such a wonderful place to dine with a family.
Fantastic, flavorful food, generous portions, and clearly run by people who care. My wife has a gluten allergy and we ordered through a delivery app with someone confusing options for flagging it. The manager went out of their way to call us and confirm, and took care to appropriately label every part of the order. With delivery turning out great, we can’t wait to visit in person soon instead!
We loved the food and the service! Have done carryout several times including during the pandemic! The owner would personally pkace the food in our car!
