Wow just wow it's absolutely gorgeous. Just walking in put a huge smile on my face. The decorations are awesome. We ordered the potato pancakes and they were okay. I tasted the breading more than anything. For dinner I got the chicken schnitzel. It came with green beans and mashed potatoes. It was very good! The one thing I didn't like was the pop was $6.00 and no free refills. And the glass was a goblet size glass. For the winter months I would definitely recommend making reservations. They also have cheeseburger and fries along with a full German menu
If you love Christmas decorations, this is a great spot. The decor here is so over the top but really beautiful to look at. They have some random creepy dolls placed throughout the bar. I've been here twice and only ordered drinks at the bar. The mulled wine is $22 so seems very overpriced. It would be nice if they printed the prices of the drinks, but I believe they omit them on purpose since it's way overpriced. I would recommend if you want to take cool pictures and enjoy the Christmas lights but be aware that you will over pay.
before I came to this photo-generic Instagram- famous restaurant, the overall low average review threw me off, yet I decided to give it a try. the three stars go to the decor and my table waiter’s service. Of course, this place is uniquely famous for its distinctive Christmas decorations. So it’s true. My table service was pleasant. However, the food is less than average German food you can find in Manhattan, not mention it’s over priced so are the alcohol drinks. not exaggerating, I had the worst Black Forest cake ever. Host at the door who checks in for dine-in table acted like it’s the customer’s honor to be even admitted in. didn’t feel like I came for service but to be ruled. My recommendation is, pick a week day at an an off peak time, just order a drink at the bar, take a few photos, that’s more than enough
The most beautiful Christmas decor in a restaurant I’ve seen so far Such great holiday spirit and music. The servers are really attentive and nice too and the food arrived quickly. It was completely packed so there was a 15 minute wait for walk-ins. I found the restaurant from all of the Instagram posts and decided to drop by and take a quick look. Their phone number doesn’t work and hasn’t for over a week, probably because it’s very popular, so I didn’t have a reservation. I planned to get something small and simple ~$10, take pictures, and leave after a few minutes, but I ended up having a main entree and spending $50. I’m not a big fan of schnitzel but it was recommended for a meat with vegetables dish and it was fine. The food is standard, but the decorations are so beautiful and worth it!!
I came here just to see the Christmas decorations, which are absolutely stunning. I didn’t know that I was waiting in a long line just to be told to go find a place to stand at the extremely crowded bar. I pushed my way in and finally got a cocktail. It was good, but not $30 good. They just kept letting more and more people in, and none of them could get to the bar. I had expected to sit and eat here. Finding a restroom was out of the question. Glad I did it once, but not sure I’d go back.
only rating the ambiance, the friendliness of the bartender, and the ridiculousness of the decorations I was surprised that everything wasn't covered in dust because it looks like it's been up there forever we had already eaten so we were just stopping for a cocktail, but the food smelled delicious! I would definitely go back for lunch or an early dinner one day because it is quite a small spot and I'm not a big fan of being squished.
Restaurants super cute. The foods okay. But the decor is fantastic! All Christmas themed all year! It’s a great place for anyone interested in taking really captivating and interesting photos. Influencers this is the place for you! The service was okay. It’s a great place to grab a drink with friends! Also during our visit it was quiet empty but I can imagine traffic picks up during the holidays.
the "$$$" is no joke- this place is expensive but a really fun date not spot if you're willing to pay a little extra. The Christmas decorations are so much fun and their holiday drink list was delicious. I had the butternut squash soup, green beans, and mashed potatoes. all phenomenal but once again $$$ Vegetarian options: vegetarian options more for the sides/starters. Pescatarian options as well with their salmon
Couldn’t get reservation coz they never pick up the phone so had to literally wait for an hour and a half to get in. Too crowded inside but the Xmas decorations are insane. Definitely a place to visit at least once. The drinks are super pricey but worth it.
I’m giving 2 starts for the Christmas decorations! Yes it’s Instagramable my dear friends! Reservation is impossible coz the numbers are always busy. I got my luck on the 10th attempt. Food: very pricey I almost faint 4 medium sausages is $60 are you kidding me? 3 potato pancakes almost $30. Be fair to the people who wanted to dine in and get drinks at your restaurant. Yes I get it! you put so much effort for the Christmas theme but the food you offer to patrons is not worth the price. Come on! So if you’re planning to just take a photo just come here get one drink and take photos and leave. Well they’ll tell everyone to leave at 10pm anyway. Not pleased with the whole experience. Good luck!
