Total lack of Communication !!! We placed our order in March for $9,000 worth of shutters to placed on our windows. We were told that they would not be in until June for installation. We finally called on July 5, 2022 to find out which year they meant when they said June we thought 2022. We found out that the shutters were there and they set a time to install July 12, 2022. First lack of communication, we should have been called when they came in. They should not have waited for us to call. When the installers came one of the workers got sick and we stopped installation. The worker is okay and we were very happy for them. We setup another installation for the July 18, 2022. The installers came, but the electricians did not, so we had to schedule another installation for the today July 19, 2022. They arrive and we still cannot get the installation complete, because what we were told they could do the day we purchased the shutters back in March, they cannot do. Now we have reschedule the appointment again as the installers have to come back out and remove the boxes they put in so the electricians can install the electric. We my husband called and I called called the office to speak to the supervisor Nina. Nina basically said they will be there on August 1, 2022 to complete the installation not sure if this includes electricity and all as we were not informed. I called Nina to discuss with her how with a better communication all of these reschedules would not have happened and to insure that this is completed on August 1, 2022. So poor management and lack of communication is a problem for this company. Communication can be fixed, but since Nina is one of the owners I doubt the problems with management will go away. The blinds themselves are great if they worked. They are beautiful and match our home very well. My main concern is dealing with this company long term. We wanted to eventually do our whole home, but not so sure now. Dealing with them for maintenance and repairs seems like it would be a nightmare. The workers all along the way salesman, installers and electricians were wonderful, polite and very professional. But I look at long term dealing with a company for my future needs and this company office personnel is not reliable and has no communication abilities for future dealings.
We live in Houston, Tx., and decided to get Hurricane Shutters installed on our large windows to avoid having to handle large sheets of plywood when a dangerous storm is predicted for our area. My sister had Rollac install roll-down Hurricane Shutters on her large windows a number of years ago, and has been very pleased with the convenience and ease of use when a storm was predicted. She has felt much more secure each time a hurricane or other dangerous storm has threatened our area. We shopped around – on the web – and visited companies in the Houston/Galveston Gulf Coast area that install hurricane shutters. We considered our options, and came right back to Rollac. There were several months between the order, measuring our windows, the manufacture, and the final installation. Depending upon the style, color, etc., some orders have been affected by “supply chain” delays in materials. The initial wait time estimate was much shorter than the actual delay. It’s probably best to order your shutters long before Hurricane Season starts so you are prepared prior to the first storm! When the crew Leon and Raphael came to install the hurricane shutters, however, they were very careful and handled the installation with skill and efficiency. When it appeared that there might be problems with old and crumbling bricks and mortar in some places, Leon took that into consideration, proposed solutions, and skillfully worked around the problems. They, and Art, and the team in Pearland, did their best to satisfy us. When they finished, the shutters worked very well, and looked as if they were planned as a part of the original house. When the next Hurricane threatens, we will be much safer – and we only need to roll down the shutters to quickly prepare our property for whatever may come!
We had a great experience. Everyone was professional and we love our shades! They make a huge difference. The only complaint is they only operate via a remote. I with there was a switch control as well.
i cannot say enough about this company. I had damage to my 10 year old blinds and they not only found me the part but made sure I was taken care of even though they were about to close. Old fashion customer service still exist. Than you!
Our Rollac exterior motorized shutters are awesome. The support we received from Sylvia at Rollac made it possible for them to be installed and be exactly what we needed. We have 10 shutter units which is installed on a 2 story great room wall of glass. Initially she connected us with our local dealer. He basically no bid the job due to the size and installation challenges which exceeded his abilities. I talked to Sylvia again and she connected us with Blinds Plus of Fayetteville NC. They turned out to be a creative out of box team which thrives on challenging jobs. Once we signed the contract and paid the advance funds we checked on the progress after 5 weeks We we’re told that all was on schedule as far as they knew. Letting us think that the shutters would be installed In early August in about 3 weeks given the 8 week Rollac fabrication schedule. I had a complex surgery scheduled in October, so to insure our order was going as planned I checked with Sylvia as to when the order was expected to be shipped to Blinds Plus in Fayetteville NC. She let me know no order was ever placed they just had given Blinds Plus a quote At that point I realized that Blinds Plus knew there was noway the shutters could be installed in August on the schedule we discussed - they had not even placed an order. Once I engaged with them regarding sitting on our money and let them know that I expected the shutters up before my surgeries. Sylvia and Blinds Plus worked very well together and got the order put in ASAP. Then we arranged with Sylvia to have them shipped directly here to save time. Because of the trucking shipment difficulties Sylvia authorized an independent shipper to deliver to us which Rollac ate all additional cost. In the end the shutters were installed before my surgeries which was very successful but were not all powered up and the finishing touches were finally completed just before Thanksgiving. While a bit delayed it was Sylvia’s dedicated oversight, recommendations, verification of the order dimensions which made this potential disaster turn out so well with all units fitting perfectly. For Rollac management- Sylvia deserves a raise or a good bonus. I will be highly recommending your product and your customer service.
My experience with Rollac Shutters of Texas has been awesome, Teresa was very knowledgeable and helpful and always kept me informed if there was any delays or rescheduling and answered all my questions. The techs Santiago and Jeff were very professional, on time every time they came out, and got the job done. I highly recommend this company if you want Quality work done on your shutters and professional and knowledgeable techs call Rollac Shutters of Texas.
Overpriced for residential use. Warranty too brief for $ investment. Shutters constantly break. Long wait times for repairs. Never fixed on first visit. Always requires some obscure part from Germany. Several weeks to even months to complete a repair. Would never do this again. Great idea but company too small and understaffed on the service side. Like all companies these days they are very well staffed on the sales/take your money side. Sad because we had these when I lived in Germany and they were solid work horses.
Posting a review is not something I generally do, but the lack of service I have received from these people has pushed me beyond my limit. As a business manager of a building with these shutters installed, I had an issue earlier this year. They sent out a repair crew, at a handsome fee, and the problem was resolved. So I thought. A few months later, our remote totally stopped working, I called and was told they would ship me a new one , I paid for it, gave them the shipping address and waited, and waited, and waited, so I called back only to be told they would send me "another one". I was also told we could program it ourselves, or we could pay to have their tech come out and do it, but it was easy to program. After trying for several months now to get it to work properly, I called yesterday to have a tech come out. The woman I spoke to put me on hold then came back and said she would need to call me back as she needed to see where she could fit me in, but she would call me back. No call back people.....I called today only to be told, she has a sticky note on her computer that if she gets a cancellation she will call me. Great customer service there Rollac. Really appreciate the effort that was put in on my behalf. I gave you one star only because I couldn't post my review without giving you at least one.
I received excellent service! The men who came out were very knowledgeable and got my shutters fixed. I accidentally put my shutter down on a chair and it stopped working. Other than that I’ve never had an issue. I had to wait about 3 weeks for the crew but as a business owner I can understand that it gets busy and in the end I was very satisfied.
I had my first Rollac shutters installed in 1989 and they worked perfectly for 26 years. The only problem that I had during that time was one of the timer controls went out. Then last year we had some remodeling done so I had Rollac remove the affected shutters so we could have the new windows installed. Then Rollac came back and re-installed the shutters with new controllers. Everything went smoothly. Now I am having a problem with one of the original motors after 27 years of reliable service not bad!. They responded quickly with scheduling a service call and a quote for upgrading to to a manual gear crank as back-up in case of a power failure. I can't say enough good things about this company. They have always been the ideal supplier that you could wish for and very rarely find. Good value, reliable product and service, professional people and are still servicing their customers to their high standards after all these years. The ideal American small business in my opinion.
