Love the woods and walking paths. Also, there is a pond with some geese raising a family at the moment. BTW.. Some large potholes by the dirt entrance need to be graded flat for smaller vehicles. Dog-friendliness: Dog park, which is fenced to let the pets run and play. Picnic area: Covered pavilion and grilling areas.
Pretty hiking spot with a dog park. Beautiful little pond with great reflections on a calm day. Surprising location not far from the Merritt Pkwy and more densely populated areas. Note that signs indicate that the park is limited to Stratford residents only, although this is probably not much enforced in the off season.
This is an excellent park for anyone who lives in the area, especially if you are a boy scout troop. The Boy Scout area is well-developed with three large lean-tos one is disabled accessible, 3 large fire rings, and built-in benches for all of them. It is an a large campground with lots of open space and can be reached by vehicle. The rest of the camp has some nice improvements like a pavilion and a large parking lot. There's even a pond with a small island and benches that look over it. Best part is that the town does not charge for its use if you are local.
Wonderful trail network for hiking and biking. Stratford residents only but you can park up on North Peter Lane/Kathleen Lane to get around that.
This is a great little forest with a pond and well kept walking trails. I was impressed by its cleanliness. There are also old foundations/ruins to explore and cool boulders to climb. This is a great place to bring the kids for a stroll anytime of year.
Beautiful forest park. Hiking all over the place. Wildlife viewing. It has a creek and a pond. All gorgeous and clean. I saw a few other people with dogs at the parking lot but I never saw anyone else on any trails. There is a dog park just next door. The park is clean and well kept. Hiking is like going back in time, with moss covered tables. It’s a must see.
Quiet, rocky, great walking trails. Dog friendly
A pretty natural park tucked between a quiet neighborhood and the highway. The sound of traffic is fairly consistent but the twisting trails and hidden features make for a cute place to hike 1-3 miles. No playgrounds
Just a really set back park with some neat trails . A favorite place to relax by the lake.
I liked this place to bring my kids when they were little. Now that my kids are grown, I learned as a new puppy owner that it's also a great place to bring your dog. I plan to bring him here through his puppy months into his adult dog years. Truly a nice place Stratford has preserved.
