Root Cellar

I'm a fifty something father of a IU student. This is her favorite bar and she took me when visiting to show it to me. The drinks are a decent price and the Bill ** Murray was good. It is a place Im sure I would have loved when I was in school but is a little beyond my typical haunts these days. Something to try out at least once.

Go for the people watching. Stay for the people watching. Drinks are standard. Location has a speakeasy quality to it. The people are tremendous.

Cheap, quality drinks, shots, and cocktails. Good variety of music, usually a good place to dance (gotta watch out everywhere for creepy bros dancing on you in this town tho..), fast bartenders. One of the best places to lounge in a bar too if you are looking for underground grungy velvet things :)

My absolute favorite bar in Bloomington. Great prices and awesome selection. Most important awesome music. Always a different vibe every night. Never have had a bad time.

4.5 rating. This place is fun with lots of little "cellars" in the basement of Farm. Built like a world war 2 bomb shelter, it is not open but has several different nooks for meeting, drinking, and hanging out. I went with friends during a 70's dance night and had a really good time. Dance floor is small and packed. Once bathroom is less than great, but overall, a really fun environment.
