VERY VERY RUDE!!!!!!!!! I will never shop here again...just walking in makes you feel uncomfortable, the way they talk to you!!!! I would give it no stars if I could..fork left driver wanted to eat my wife with his eyes !!!disgusting!!!! and no respect..
They sell plywood allmost double price than home Depot, maple plywood is $89.00 plus tax at the home Depot, but the Rosenzweig sell it 160 dollar. Too expensive!!
I don’t care if you’re 100 years old. If your store hours say you open at 7am, be open at 7am. Sending someone away until 10am is not acceptable especially when the single item requested is 5 behind the counter. Very disappointed.
Decent selection of hardwoods but damn they really know they are needed not wanted. Classic nyc business. Ignore the hours posted if you go in person, the beginning of the day is only for loading trucks, there’s a lunch break, and they leave early. So essentially there’s small windows late morning and early afternoon for you to go and pick your lumber. That being said, once you know how they operate this place will work as a lumber resource, but just pray nothing goes wrong because in the end they don’t need you.
Placed an order at one price and delivered at another price. Classic bate and switch. Not about the paying the additional cost more about business integrity and the principal of standing behind a quoted price. Not impressed. When I complained I was told 'nothing they can do'.. Amazing that you would treat a customer that potentially could be spending thousands of dollars in the future and they wouldn't honor a quoted price. It's all about trust and integrity. Something that has been badly missed over the last few years. Truly sad.
I purchased their cedar for a fence and love it! So much better quality and size than any home improvement store.
Bought three sheets of 3-ply Plyboo bamboo plywood. One had a slight bow at one end. Upon taking it out of it's plastic wrapper we put it on horizontal sticks and let air circulate in the hope the bowing would come out. 5 days later the plywood is now severely bowing. I call Dan who did the transaction with me at Rosenzweig and out of the blue he says we weren't supposed to put that particular product on sticks. I email him the informational letter that came with the sheet saying that it can be and if there are concerns about it, should be, put on sticks. So now they say they will swap it out but that they won't send a truck into the city for exchange. We have to rent a van for $120 and drive it to the Bronx to swap it out with no compensation from Rosenzweig for the rental. No other options. "we stand behind our products". Not so much. I'm out $300 worth of unusable ply. Never again.
For the professional and knowledgeable lay person best prices in town
This is pretty much the only game in town for hardwood lumber and the prices definitely reflect that. There's a pretty high minimum for deliveries and you definitely want to make sure you pick your own boards if you do. That being said, the crew can be very helpful here if you know what you want and what you're doing. They make no cuts.
Great selection here, I come from Brooklyn to buy most of my materials because their prices are on point and I don't know of anyone else in the NY Metro area who carries so many species. The staff is a little rough around the edges but try not to take it personally if they seem rude, they are alright people. Go there a few times and learn the etiquette, you will be fine.
