Parking advice for jurors: The morning you report for jury duty, parking spaces marked "Employee Parking" along the left side the court building facing Yawkey Boys & Girls Club or behind the building are allowable but you need a paper pass marked with today's date. Park temporarily, enter the front door on Warren St,and ask Security for a pass. Leave extra 20 minutes in your morning to arrange your parking, for a security screening of belongings and for using the elevator. If you are street parking instead, long term parking is free near the Dunkin on Washington. If you are looking for a good lunch spot within a short walk for your hour break, Nubian Market is excellent and had a lot of selection on the menu plus all types of coffee.
Someone has to do the mastah's bidding at least the employees are paid, appointed, political or know-you hires and not enslaved carrying out orders for free.... Take care of mastah, your families and friends. Who serves the public especially descendants of the enslaved? REPARATIONS!
So far so good. Came here for Jury Duty and was asked if I drove in. They gave me a one day permit so I could park in the employee parking and not get towed. Was very happy about that. In the lobby area there are pictures it looks that we’re sent in from other Roxbury cities/towns across America made by I’m guessing 5th graders. Nice touch, but I’m guessing none of them are as vibrant and interesting as our own Roxbury
Absolutely the WORST courthouse in Suffolk county. They all ego tripping on their titles. When asked if anyone would be hardship for today I was completely ignored even after putting my hand up with my juror card. The judge made it clear court hours are 8:30-4:30 and he was making sure we served an entire 8 hour shift. When 4:30 came I was still in jury check-in room which was locked from the outside. I had to call 2 times to get someone to let me out. Finally court officer came and said judge would like to see you. I explained to judge of situation of family member who was in hospital and failure to thrive. Judge finally dismissed me at 5PM. Courthouse was empty. No clerks. No employees. No security. As I left I got call person hard passed away. I absolutely hate this place. I hope the judge and court employees burn in hell.
Just had a good experience with Probation Depts.' Vilma Jenny. Outstanding customer service. Clerks office was efficient, transferring my call directly to Ms. Vilma. Thku
I am an attorney, and the Assistant Clerks at BMC Roxbury are the rudest people on power trips. Do not believe the Clerk Magistrate lets this go on. Waiting for hours for simple cases. Wasting client's time and money as well as picking on lawyers daily for the power trip. This Court should close because it is obvious everyone there hates their job and takes it out on the litigants.
As an ex employee, let me tell you, the Clerks office was never run right, we, the support staff got blamed for the inadequacies of the clerks. The clerk magistrate knew only about leaving early in his Aston Martin so as to avoid having anything to do with actual work...very pompous man.... I won’t go into the Restraining orders, it’s basically NOT taken seriously as far as the Clerks office goes...missing affidavits, original paperwork.... If the Herald or Boston Globe reads this...investigate as you will find so much wrong in the clerks office it will make your head swim....
I called to ask a question of a court clerk and the lady was super rude. She asked me what the hell was wrong with me and why I would ask the question I did. All I did was ask how to take care of a ticket. Rudest person I have ever encountered on the phone.
This isn't a place where you'll get justice and I wouldn't expect it. If you have any other choice at all go to a different courthouse or get your case heard in a different jurisdiction. I was the victim of a larceny with clear evidence. At the show-cause hearing the appointee told me upfront he wouldn't allow the charges to go through based off of his own principles. Additionally, he stated "You should be thanking him the thief because now you learned your lesson. I know you won't let this happen ever again." Nothing was done. At a different trial for a broken contract the judge appointee told me he wouldn't acknowledge the clear contract I had evidence for in-hand. In his decision he ignored clear laws around the issue and it was clear it wasn't given his attention. The judgement was delivered to me filled with grammatical errors and without a true explanation. Don't go here and if you do don't expect it to be reasonable or handled by people who care about what they're doing or what you're doing.
The accused can sit and lie to the Judge and they believe the lies. This was in court room one, the bald judge is prejudiced. Now I fear for my safety
