Just bought box of chocolate covered nuts, looks like a 5-yr-old filled the paper wrappers, some 1/3 full, one over the top. Overall, not pleasing to look at, very cheap looking, mostly peanuts. Definitely not buying any more.
I bought a box of Valentine's chocolates, and they tasted so terrible, the nuts tasted stale which in turn made the chocolate taste horrible and smell bad, and the caramels were rock hard. Never have had such a rotten experience with Russell Stover candies. Was going to gift it to a friend, glad I didn't!!!
Russell Stover Peanut Butter Egg: Russell Stover has been going strong for almost 100 years as the company was born in Denver, CO in 1923. Around this time of year the company’s major product is its famous chocolate marshmallow eggs. Today I have a version that’s stuffed not with marshmallow, but peanut butter. The taste of the outer shell is a sweet milk chocolate flavor. Biting into the egg divulges that the thin chocolate exterior contains a sugary, peanut butter filling. Texturally the filling is similar to Reese's as it is solid, slightly gritty, and not at all runny or very creamy. It's peanut butter flavor is different from Reese's distinct flavor, but it's not bad. Overall I enjoyed this egg and I’m glad I had it in my basket. If you crave peanut butter as much as I do then this one is for you, Doughboy approved *Russell Stover previously made a "Peanut Butter Creme Egg", but it appears to be now discontinued. I liked the "creme" version better as it distinguished itself from Reese's by having a delicious liquid-like peanut butter filling. I've included a picture of it as well for those interested in seeing it. Russell Stover Eggs Rankings: 1.Vanilla Cream 2.Peanut Butter 3.Dsrk Chocolate Maple Cream there are other eggs I prefer to this, but have sadly been discontinued Doughboy_Food_Reviews
Today, I purchased your Pecan Delight. It has been my favorite treat for years. As I was settling in to enjoy my Pecan Delight, I noticed there was one problem - no pecans! They should now call it Caramel Delight Shame on you! I am extremely disappointed to find that you are compromising quality. The package says “Big Bite”. I purchased the 2 oz size. I wanted to express my feelings as another one of my favorites seems to be compromised for the sake of price and profit. I will now seek out another candy solution in the future. Thank You Charles Schnaars Sent from my iPhone
I remember when you bought a box, and it had candy with little paper separators for each one. Now bought a box and there is one large insert which has fewer pieces maybe half as many and lots of filler space. No longer a value anymore. Cheaped out. Even the box lid didn't have the flavors, they put in a piece of paper to identify the pieces .
This store has A LOT despite how small it looks from the outside. It has everything from those great peanut butter pumpkin cups to cookies to even ice cream! The man who helped me was friendly and kind. I bought an oatmeal raisin cookie and the chocolate chunk cookie. Both were very soft, big, and, of course, tasty! I was very tempted to buy one of the caramel apples, but they were about five dollars. My only complaint is that things seemed a bit expensive to me, but then again, I'm a college student, so everything seems expensive to me. If you love sweets, cookies, and/or ice cream, this store is for you. :
Russell Stover's has the best chocolate. Oh well. The truth is I grew up with it. I'm proud of the business from Kansas City. Dang good chocolate.
Yes, I’m old and yes I love your chocolates I’ve been your customer since 1953 and your just as good today as you were in 53
Decent chocolate Poor truck drivers Yesterday was stuck behind one on i70 not far from their plant for 20 minutes as he was trying to pass another truck but his truck couldn’t get going or he couldn’t drive so about 50 cars were finally happy he got in the right lane as is the law in Kansas He had zero chance of passing the other truck
Would like to see more shops north of river like in gladstone or liberty mo. Give us a place to get some goodies!
