While I appreciate the restaurant's effort to stay open during the holidays, my experience at this Thai establishment was unfortunately disappointing. Upon entering, we noticed a table cluttered with leftover food, which seemed wasteful for someone who loves Thai cuisine. The main dishes we ordered, pad Thai and orange chicken, were overly sweet, making it challenging to enjoy the flavors. We also ordered soups and some starters, definitely not worth the price we paid. Frankly, I believe I could replicate better Thai dishes following an online recipe. The two stars given for being open during the holidays….
I've been to Thailand and I've tried many Thai restaurants in and around New England. The food coming out of this kitchen is excellent! My personal favorite is their Pad Se Ewe, but the Pad Thai is also very good. If you're in downtown Portland and looking for a Thai restaurant, look no further than this place. You won't be disappointed.
Sabieng had delicious Thai food with great servings and service - we tried four different Thai curries and each was prepared fresh and tasted like homemade food. A lot of great vegetarian options as well. Highly recommend trying this place if you’re in Portland !
Beautiful place, I loved the food and the staff was very kind!Food: 5/5
Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and it was absolutely amazing! The woman behind the counter was super pleasant to talk to while waiting for the food. Highly recommend this place!Food: 5/5
We stopped in for a dinner on a slow, day after Christmas poking around Freeport and then Portland. We ordered crab rangoon and a curry puff appetizer, which were great and came quickly. The family thought the rangoons were exceptional. The curries we got were good and the sesame chicken was in an excellent peanut sauce spicy level 2, They have excellent water and the Thai hot tea was really good, almost has a cream soda vibe and good on a winter night. Highly recommended eatery!
The food was amazing. Lots of great options. We had tomkhagai soup, thai orange tofu instead of chicken and crispy pad thai with tofu. Would highly recommend!
Try the iced Thai tea! SO GOOD! Great service, fresh food. Definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Took a picture almost at the end because couldn’t stop eating. Mainly take out orders, but the taste of both dishes was amazing!!Food: 5/5
I fell in love with Sabieng when I first ate here 7+ years ago. The food is delicious and served quickly by knowledgeable and kind staff. I highly recommend the noodle dishes, the Drunken Noodles or Pad Se-Ewe with Tofu are my personal favorites, and the Mango curry is also well worth a try! Vegetarian options: Some of the best tofu I've ever had! Fried but not greasy.
