Safeway

I had terrible experience at the deli today. I was on my lunch break, and after patiently waiting in line for my turn was rudely ignored by the employee behind the counter and made to wait longer while she spoke to the customer behind me. She asked her if she wanted to be helped first! The customer then said no, that I could go first. The employee looked at me angrily and asked me what I wanted. I told her, then she looked away and asked me again, so I raised my voice to tell her. Then she accused me of yelling at her. I will never go back if I see that bearded goat behind the counter.

Between the club card and Just4You, I save a huge amount on my grocery bill! Last week I bought a little over $100 on grocery items and saved $36. Very competitive with other discount grocery stores and Safeway has a very large selection. They have a gourmet cheese selection, a deli counter, fresh made sushi, a magnificent bakery and baked or fried chicken with all the trimmings. They have a great seafood counter and large produce section. I've been shopping there for 19 years and I am very satisfied with my experience with Safeway.

We do pretty much all our shopping here. I've found that with the coupons and the gas rewards the amount I spend on groceries is the same as if I shopped at Wal-Mart as long as you watch the sale ads. The fresh produce is much better here than walmart as well.

Safeway is pretty consistently a bad experience. Way too narrow aisles, not wide enough for 2 carts to pass. The check out line goes across the main aisle, so it's always congested. The help is always friendly, but the store design/layout is very poor. ONCE again, they're resetting the whole store so there's even more confusion. Really wish we had a good grocery store in town that was designed properly to help you enjoy going to the grocery store.

There store had a pretty good selection. Sometimes they could do better on price and service though.
