Hands down the best pizza in the area. If you're looking for a good patio, you found one...or two. They make their own hot sauce, you can watch the hand-tossed art go down, they play good tunes, and have wet ranch. I base a lot of reviews on their ranch, and this is so damn good ranch. We got a slice of veggie and a slice of the meat special. Both blew away our expectations. I don't think Google Reviews will let me have enough characters to describe how amazing their staff is. Absolutely perfect. Will be back. Probably tomorrow.
This place has the best vegan pizza I've ever had. I built my own sausage and pepperoni with pesto dollups. Unbelievable. They even nail the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. A gem of a place. Vegetarian options: Vegan options abound and they're great! Dietary restrictions: Vegan
A true hidden gem for the locals. Their pizza is perfection and their pizza flavor combos are so well curated. Speaking of well curated, all their meat comes from local butcher Otto's on Woodstock. Their no proof cocktails are delicious and so nice to have options other than water and soda. We had a small Cesar with peppery spicy housemade Cesar dressing for balance and digestion. We got the tricolor add sausageliterally amazing and the Umbria which is a white pizza with delicious smokey ham, sweet barely cooked onions, and a nice drizzle of balsamic reduction. When I say the table was silent for the first solid five minutes, you could not hear anything except the cronch of that perfectly crisp slightly, ever so slightly, burnt crust, then just happy grunts of culinary delight. We rode up from the waterfront and the end of the ride pizza was exactly what we wanted. Ps please bring back desserts, they were incredible...maybe just the pot-de-creme if anything.
I’ve decided to give this place a try after seeing the 5 star reviews and wanting to support a small family business, this is Saturday night 1/14. The service was decent, nothing special. My boyfriend and I came in, there wasn’t a distinct host at first . I feel like we weren’t seen at first or made note of until a couple minutes later. That’s not my issue though. Pizza was alright, also nothing special, and I guess would be worth it for the price listed on the menu. My boyfriend and I ordered the Summer in New York pizza in a large size with additional mushrooms on half of it and two Shirley temples. The menu price for this pre-designed pizza was $32. The bill arrives at a surprising amount of $53 and I’m slightly confused because it seems kind of high but I go ahead and pay. I look at the pizza price and it comes out to $45. I’m confused because I don’t understand how additional mushrooms on half of the pizza is an extra $13. I try the math and it still doesn’t work. I go back and explain how the pizza is $45 when it was $32 on the menu besides extra mushrooms, which are about $2 extra on the menu. The server explains that the pizza was charged as a “build your own” because of the way their ordering system is set up. So each individual ingredient is charged as it’s own, just because I wanted one more topping on the pre-designed pizza. There was no disclaimer on the menu and my server also didn’t notify us of this system failure/price change at the time of ordering. I believed I was going to pay the correct price plus 2-3 dollars more for my pizza. Instead I paid an extra $13 which is ridiculous in my opinion. A refund of the $13 wasn’t offered, I wasn’t given an apology for this price discrepancy either. I was just told that this price error happens in the system if an additional topping is added to a pizza. 1. I’m sorry but if this price error is already a common occurrence and is known of, why hasn’t it been fixed or at least mended through an additional step such as adding a discount? 2. Adding an extra topping to a pre-designed pizza does NOT and SHOULD NOT count as a build your own. Nothing was built of my own, all I wanted were mushrooms on it as well. I feel like I was duped and it frustrates me that this might be happening to other customers as well, especially in these financially difficult times. I wish I was notified of this price difference at the time of ordering so there was no lack of communication or major price discrepancy. Another thing to add is the confusing tipping screen on the card readers. From left to right, it went 25%, 20% and 15%. I had to double check to make sure I was seeing right. For someone who chooses the first option very left because usually it is 15-18% and I believe service that meets standards but doesn’t go above and beyond, that is an appropriate amount. Also, with the type of eating establishment this is.. not anything fancy.. 25% of a tip really won’t be that common unless the service is spectacular. I just wonder how many people have accidentally chosen the 25% option. I’m really disappointed in the lack of communication, major price discrepancy, mediocre service and just how my complaint/ confusion was brushed off because of a system error that the staff KNOW about. I think I was ripped off on purpose and/or nobody really cared. I won’t be coming back nor do I think anyone should try this place in the beginning. Another thing: I’ve seen the replies to poor reviews of this restaurant, those being 3 star or under usually, and the person or owner who replies to them.. and I will say that the type of response is so unprofessional and lacks any respect or customer service that it baffles me. They came off as passive aggressive, honestly closer to attacking the reviewer and no resolution was provided in these responses either. Taking the high road or being the bigger person, especially as a business owner is not common here. Everyone especially customers, even those with supposed poor experiences should be treated and spoken to with respect. Do better.
This place is a little gem in the neighborhood! Perfect pizza, amazing staff, and always a good time. Each pizza is an experience in and of itself, and I am never disappointed trying new things.Food: 5/5
No 2 pizzas are alike, but St Pizza manages to pull off one of my all time top 5 favorites. Their "For the House" pie has sausage and onion, plus fresh arugula wilted over the top after it comes out of the oven. Add a nicely run bar, and music at just the right level, and you have a place that I'm always looking forward to visiting again. Oh - don't miss their tiny appetizers - the house made pickled veggies or the tiny onions marinated in balsamic vinegar are highly recommended
I’ve lived within walking distance of this place for almost five years and it’s become the #1 favorite dinner spot for my six year old daughter and I. Needless to say we’ve been there a zillion times over the past 5 years and every single time the food and service have been wonderful and consistent. The patio out back is a really lovely place to eat on a warm non-covid evening. They’re also very child friendly. It’s even become my parents favorite pizza and they only get to have it when they’re visiting from Massachusetts once or twice a year. They’re visiting again in a few weeks and every time we speak they ask if Gladstone Pizza has reopened yet. So relieved you all reopened just in time! The For The House special pizza is my absolute favorite and every single person I’ve introduced it to so far has loved it. I also love the vegan Caesar not even remotely vegan it’s just really good. Don’t change a thing.
I love this place! Great menu and options. Beautiful patio and plenty of space for large groups Vegetarian options: Yes Kid-friendliness: Yes Wheelchair accessibility: The building is accessible not sure about the patio Dietary restrictions: Vegan options
[2nd visit 1 star] - I haven't modified a review before, however our 2nd visit on Thursday night 3/5/20 was 100% different. The service was rude music so loud waitress couldn't hear us, slow & the food quality went WaAy down. Our pizza was burnt this time, the caesar salad was flat, dressing wasn't good, lettuce wasn't cut well or crisp, our focaccia bread was cold. Consistency wasn't there & is why the rating changed & what makes a good restaurant no matter the day of the week your experience should be relatively the same. We always try a place twice before deciding its a regular. Probably won't be back again. [1st visit 5 stars] One word describes this place: A-m-a-z-i-n-g. We tried their made to order Focaccia Bread w/olive oil & balsamic vinegar; the bread was delicious but the dip was so fresh, well balanced. Caesar salad was addictive, it also was crisp & fresh, the dressing I could eat everyday. The pizza was also well made! Ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect mix with an eclectic 80's playlist. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu, added perk it's open until midnight! 1st visit date was 3/1/20
Pizza week slice was incredible! first time I had ever been there and the person at the counter was nice and the pizza was great. I will definitely be back.Takeout: Yes
