Sakagura is one of the best Japanese restaurants or any restaurants in the city. It’s like be transported to Japan. The sale collection is excellent. Large menu with something for everyone. Came for a 6 person business dinner and it was perfect.
A hidden gem steps from Grand Central Terminal. Always dependable for light izakaya fare, but also incredibly delicious soba the uni soba should not be missed and premium wagyu. Sitting at the counter sipping on some ice cold junmai ginjo, you’ll forget that you’re in a basement in a nondescript Midtown building.
Came on a Friday night and it was quite busy! Reservations recommended! Good service and good food. The portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side and the taste is a bit on the bigger flavor salty side. But overall, a nice atmosphere and good meal. Enter via office building entrance and head down to the basement.
I really enjoyed the dinner they’ve done so well !!
