I’ll start with the restaurant, then talk about the food. First, a heads up: the chopsticks they use are rough wooden chopsticks you’d find in carry-out and disposable plastic bowls. If you’re like me, and the rough wooden chopsticks always chafe the side of your mouth, I recommend that you bring your own. As far as COVID-19 safety is concerned, there are plastic barriers separating you from the cashier, but no barriers between you and the other customers. Hand sanitizer is available by the cashier. The strength of the restaurant is the variety of food they serve: other than ramen and crepes, there also rice bowls. I ordered the Unagi Eel Ramen and the Chocolate Temptation Crepe. Unagi Eel Ramen $14.00: The eel seemed fresh and was tender. However, I wasn’t really impressed with the broth or noodles. The flavor of the broth was really light and lacked richness, not at all like how I like my tonkotsu broth. The texture of the noodles was fine, but it tasted like store-bought noodles. As for price, I’d say $14.00 is reasonable: it’s comparable to other ramen prices, and there was a good amount of food. Chocolate Temptation Crepe $7.95: I had never tried this kind of dessert before and so was really eager to do so. The textures worked well together. Since it was my first time eating this, I don’t really know how the price of the crepe compares to other crepes, but for the amount, I’d say that the price is reasonable. In conclusion, if you’re new to restaurant ramen or if you’re introducing someone to restaurant ramen, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are other places with more flavorful ramen. However, if you’re looking to try something new, I would come here; I haven’t really seen unagi ramen, and was really excited to try this restaurant when I first heard about it. As for me, I would likely come back. I'd like to try the char siu ramen and see if the broth will be more flavorful, or may an unagi don rice bowl. And of course, I need to try all flavors of crepes.
went back in january and really enjoyed our food!! the staff was friendly and fast service, we didn’t have to wait long for our food. food was very tasty and warmed us up since there was so much snow. chicken don was delicious. would go back again! Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
We went for desserts. Tried the shaved matcha ice, it wasn't good. It was bland and didn't like match at all. Super disappointed with the shaved ice. We ordered two ice cream crepes, those were amazing. We'll visit again, but we won't be ordering the shaved ice anymore.
Check out my favorite ramen place This is more Taiwanese ramen rather than Japanese ramen you have known before. BUT IT TURNED OUT GREAT Chicken broth is clear and smooth Spicy cha siu ramen is very rich and nice Customer service is good
Perfect little nook tucked away in the middle of Chinatown. The eel ramen was super delicious. It would be nice if they wouldn't use single use plastic bowls and silverware, but it might just be temporary due to covid. Hopefully they return to proper dinnerware. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with menu questions.
Do yourself a favor and get the crepe ice cream. Don’t ask questions, just do it. You’re welcome.
Super quick service during lunch and beef ramen was delicious! They were very generous with their beef too and good price!
Great value for money. Located in a corner in the center Chinatown you found this food stall in a mini hidden food court, this is a great way to have a ramen in Boston Downtown. I liked the Cha Siu Ramen pork but not the Chicken Ramen because a spice that I don't get use to I guess it's an adquiere flavor. The service is fast and the place is not crowed. The atmosphere is cozy and quite, and they have a long menu options: ramen, sweet crepes and the fluffy Shaved Snow, a new ice cream concept that sounds quite interesting... if you don't feel stuffed after your lunch.
Excellent hole in the wall Ramen place! At $11.95 for their cha siu and/or beef Ramen, it's an absolute steal with huge portions. Absolutely recommend! There is limited seating at their bar.
they are one of the participating establishments in this "indoor street stall" setup, which by itself is a very cute idea. problem is that the hallway is very narrow, and signage -- while in abundance to a point of distraction -- is not quite clear which sitting area belongs to whom. nevertheless, it became clear shortly that this noodle shop's territory is limited to the 8-10 stools parked in front of their counter. we lucked out to get seats right when we entered then people started to gather, but then again it was very cramped with no under-table hooks to hang your bags. takes me right back to Tsujiki Fish Market during one transit on a rainy day holding one's bags on their lap while eating, except I wasn't getting world-renowned sushi in here. the bowl of ramen appeared to be those of the pre-packaged kind, along with canned/preserved fixings and half a soft-boiled egg, scallion, and bean sprouts. the cha siu was packed with flavor and not overly fatty, which is a saving grace. the soul of ramen -- soup base -- was unfortunately very negligible. so for $12, I am not utterly satisfied nor seeing the value in this bowl. there are other places around town that I've been ; they give me that happiness inside, and I have paid couple dollars more and less! than this. service was minimally adequate. at first the cashier was lukewarm in welcoming us given our initial confusion with the setup. she seemed ok afterwards, if somewhat bored or otherwise absent-minded. chef lady was hard at work and presented food in timely manner. though the barking out of orders in Chinese then maybe in English, I forgot was a bit... awkward, to say the least. if my memory serves me right, coworker has done a group takeout from this place when they first opened. my impression of them in terms of quality of food remains the same from last time to this visit. they serve the new style shaved ice and other dessert items, which would be tempting if I haven't just had this forgettable bowl of noodle. maybe I'll come back to try dessert next time, maybe not. overall, the response i gave to my dining companion who asked about my meal just about sums it up : I'm not unhappy with this place, but I don't feel that fulfilling gratifying sensation about it, either. so, right on the 3-star line. to be honest, I'd be much less opiniated about return visits if the main dishes were under $10 each. but at the current price, I would be inclined to vote against returning. I do notice they do lunch special at $8.99 with this and that included in the meal. not at dinner though; everything is a la carte.
