I reached out to Salon 131 as I was In a pickle with my hairdresser being out of the country for six weeks unexpectedly. Apparently I have a tall order as I need a high lift with my blonde color and dark roots + a massive amount curly hair! No one wanted to touch me with the 10 foot pole and many were not accepting new clients. Sue Cunningham saved the day! Not only was she honest & open, she researched what was necessary, She was on time so important to me personable, experienced and got the job done. I love my results and I will be coming back to Salon 131 to see Sue every five weeks! She also waxed my eyebrows did a great job! Wonderful experience here! My daughter and I came in as a walk in and were greeted with such kindness and care. Amy took us and did a spectacular job on both of us! She is so fun and does amazing hair! All the staff were kind and helpful. Love it here, will definitely be back!

Sue has cut my thick course grey hair twice now…. And she is amazing! Her skills are excellent for achieving a great hair cut. She is new to North Carolina but not new to hair styling! Give her a try! You will not be disappointed!

I love salon 131! The atmosphere is friendly, inviting and very clean. Haley is my stylist and has done an exceptional job. I came to her with a color I didn’t love, and damaged fine hair. In just a few visits she was able to turn it all around. She mixed the perfect color for me. She recommended an amazing cut and now my hair is healthy and full again!

I have been here twice with Haley as my stylist. I have to say this is the happiest I’ve been with a stylist since moving here three and a half years ago. Haley is young, professional, and extremely good at what she does. She has been able to take my drab grown-out hair let all the color grow out during Covid and add a bit of color and a lot of luster without me going back to having to deal with root touch up every six weeks. She’s a magician. She’s also taken me from shoulder length blah to a chin length bob that I am positively loving. HIlary Key is a hair goddess sent from heaven. I first found Salon 131 after moving to Matthews, because they were the ONLY salon in the area willing to let me get in last minute I was literally flying out of the country the next day. In this glorious opportunity is where God placed Hilary Key as my hair stylist. She did a cut trim and color on my hair which I LOVED. Fast forward 6 months and I called to make another appointment ready to make a drastic hair change. I have had long hair my entire life, and yet i was ready for a chop. Hilary was thrilled and made me even more excited for the dramatic change! She listened to exactly what I had in mind, patiently scrolled through the photos I had saved on my phone, and made the C - U - T. It was magical. She is so attentive in every step of the process. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
