Gwen is a magician with hair!! Cannot say enough good things about this salon- TRULY THE BEST IN ALABAMA- tens across the board for cleanliness, for outstanding service, for an incredibly helpful friendly staff, and for Gwen's ability to handle my EXTREMELY overgrown slightly complicated haircut. I am super picky and have very high standards about salons. Salon 313 in Marietta Georgia set my expectations VERY HIGH. So high I didn't get a haircut for a year as I researched places lol This place has earned a long time client now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The gentleman at the front desk is amazing and he paired me with Gwen based on nervous babble and he nailed it 150%!! GWEN IS AMAZING as is the salon and I cannot say enough good things about it. Google best salon in AL like I did and go for yourself and see why it is! You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

If you are tired of getting a bad haircut, go to Salon U Midtown! You will feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Meaghan is an excellent stylist! I have received cuts from other stylists at Salon U as well, and have always gotten a 1st class cut. Street parking is challenging during the lunch hour, otherwise you should be fine. Visit their Homewood location as well.

Meaghan is great! And the salon is so careful about COVID-19 so you don’t need to worry about that at all. After the haircut, I just got a receipt with no need to sign so I didn’t know how to tip the stylist. Or is it already included? Sorry Meaghan, I should have asked

I wanted to update my review after the COVID-19 shutdowns. Salon U Midtown is doing a fantastic job ensuring customers are well taken care of. The stylists are masked and all customers are masked at all times taped if you are having anything done color-wise. Everyone is screened and temp checked. Also, chairs are socially distanced and everything is wiped down every time you head towards a new chair processing, hair washing, etc. I highly recommend them during this uncertain time!

Benji always gets my haircut right. Always on time. Always cheerful. Always friendly and engaging. I'd suggest it as a good place for a haircut. Parking can be a little tricky, but there is covered parking behind and typically street parking less than two blocks away.

I've been going here a couple of years and love my stylist. Great furnishings and always clean. Parking can be a little tough sometimes, but that goes hand in hand with the convenience of its location near UAB.

These guys do a fantastic job. This location has somewhat larger focus on barbering than their Homewood location. That being said, they are more expensive than most places guys would typically get a haircut. However, you get what you pay for- they are highly trained.
