My family and I spent a good time here. Best choice for South Charlotte. Same owner of Macchu Picchu. Has 4 months opened. The service and food highly recommended
This restaurant took the place of Maria's. I would definitely recommend. Food, service and prices are fantastic!!
Food was excellent! The waistresses are friendly, and provide a fast service. Definately enjoyed my food, the atmosphere inside, and the waitresses recommendations on the menu. Very large portion for the lunch special cost and is a must visit place, along with authentic cuisine. See you again soon.
By far the best peruvian food in Charlotte. This place took me back. The ceviche was perfectly seasoned and I enjoyed the one with the tropical twist. The environment is very typical of what you would find in Lima. Bright colors, modern decor and friendly, quick and attentive service. And they have PISCO! Can't wait to do back.
I went here last night with my family for the first time. It’s pricey for the food quality and service. There were 2 other tables aside from ours and service was very slow. We had to ask for things 2 and 3 times, however the waitress was nice. The food was okay, I have had better at other Peruvian restaurants in the area. We ordered several different platesrotisserie chicken, spaghetti with huacaina sauce and steak, a lo pobre plate, lomo saltado, fish and shrimp ceviche, chicken sandwich, burger, oysters, papa a la huacaina, and the jalea The best was the rotisserie chicken. The spaghetti with huacaina sauce and steakpasta was dry we asked for not sauce and they brought it cold so they had to reheat that plate and the French fries were not fully cooked. I may come back for the rotisserie chicken but that’s it.
My family and I enjoyed a tasty meal tonight. We will definitely be returning in the near future! Our server, didn't get her name was wonderful and very attentive.
Came to have lunch with my husband, the passion fruit juice and Their pollo a la braza were so fresh and delicious . All we ordered looked and tested so authentic. We just loved it! The service was awesome too, Zuly the manager was very attentive and her staff had a great attitude. We are def coming back. The milHojas dessert IS INCREDIBLE “"
Awful, frozen beef, frozen chicken and dessert! I had the chicken rice and the chicken was tough. My wife order the beef rice and the beef was very tough as well! For dessert we had the tres leeches that looks like the buy the cake frozen. Stay away from the shrimp ceviche! Is low quality and not well prepared! Too pricey for what it is!!!
It's OK. Wasn't amazing. Pretty slow night, but it took a while for food to be delivered. Waiter was not incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Even though it was 7pm on a weekend, they were out of flan. I'd guess that it's a small family run restaurant.
Four of us went and we ordered a bunch of things to get a feel of the restaurant. We have eaten at several Peruvian restaurants and are Colombian so we know South American cusine. Not a single person liked the dish they ordered. We will not be going back. Lomo Saltado - this was their better of the 4 main dishes ordered. Nothing special though, and meat was overcooked. Also, not described that it would just be a soupy mess maybe this was by design? Lomo w/ onions - incredibly salty. A similar but worse option than the above. Ceviche Tropical Mixto - questionable seafood selection. Over use of bay scallops which have a foul flavor and shrimp we're almost inedible. Clearly of farmed variety with distinct plastic flavor. I think it's a good call to avoid seafood at this place. Seafood Chaufa - small portion. Tasted fine generally, but again as above, the bay scallops and shrimp had to be picked out. Sauces - tastiest thing with fried yuca, but Viva Chicken has better sauces anyway so not a good reason to come to Saltao. Atmosphere/Drinks - cheap uncomfortable seats, small tables. A few TVs playing the game was good and they did have a bar serving liquor drinks. However, the mixed drinks ordered were terrible. Worst mojito I've ever tasted. Cheap beers but not a single craft.
