I went to this hospital to have a surgery to reduce and remove a stone in my Bladder. EVERY staff member was Informative, Professional, Reassuring and VERY Kind & Understanding. I am impressed with how patient and considerate any and every Staff Member that worked with me have been; Starting with the kindness of the Receptionists and extended through all the staff members, very much including Dr.Crane. This is the best experience I have ever had with a hospital in my entire life. I have a LOT of respect for the staff members of Samaritin Albany General Hospital & The Surgery Center. Also, this hospital was immaculately clean and very well maintained, I am impressed :-
We had to go to the ER this morning. The staff did a great job in treating us, we had to wait about 90 min but this is an ER so waiting is expected. The nursing care was exceptional with qualified staff and the doctor provided an extensive evaluation, shared with us her recommendations for post treatment and helped us clearly understand the issue that brought us to the ER.
Just like many others my experience with this hospitals ER was horrible. Took my 14yr old daughter in at about 615pm, she had a siezure earlier in the day but did not tell us til later, also had a massive nose bleed for about 30mins so off to the hospital we went. Only two other people were there before us. Took them over an hour just to have a urine test done. Then another nurse came out freaking out cause someone told her that my daughter was having chest pains which she was not so rushed her for an EKG unnecessary. Meanwhile an elderly lady came in with a head wound and they put her on the back burner as well, blood dripping from her cloth she was using to try and stop the bleeding. We finally got fed up about 10:30 and left.
6 hour wait to be seen so far. Waiting room has people sleeping in chairs, on the floor, they clearly have been waiting a long time as well. Watched several people leave after waiting several hours, losing lots of business here. Gotta be one of the worst places I have ever been, this community should be absolutely embarrassed that this is what we have available to our residents. Get your act together, or close down. Peopled dont deserve to suffer this long and this much while trying to get help. This would test the patience of the most patient people, prepare to be in for a long long horrible ride if you go here.
Today was a good day I didn't have to use my... Honestly the imaging tech that did my ultrasound was awesome. Thank you for your time. My experience with Samaritan and their providers is a mixed bag and nuts I could tell you horror stories I could also tell you how they've saved my life or my family and friends lives
My husband was sent to the ED from Urgent Care. He got here at 11:00am still in the waiting room and it is now 1700. Poorest experience ever. Barf bag on the floor, poor older women groaning with pain no one checked on her. This is not how it should be in the medical community. I understand being short staffed and overwhelmed but this is unacceptable. Oh and they lost his urine sample. He gave the sample when he got here and at 1600 they found it, it's at the lab now I guess.
I brought my 87 year old mom in for some health issues. The doctor was impersonal and uncaring. The doctor wanted to do a cat scan, and I asked the nurse if my mom had already had one prior to this. She got upset with me and said I didn't need to talk to her that way, and I said, I knew we should have gone to Corvallis Hospital, and then she said, you can leave anytime you want. Very unprofessional!!! I will never, I mean never, go back to this hospital again!!!
Took my man to Albany Hospital after he woke up at midnight with an infection in his face and his face was swollen. 4 hours later, still in the waiting room. At the time we arrived, there were 3 people in waiting room. We have watched them intake about 7 others. One was a woman who was in soo much pain, she was brought in by her husband in the back end of their car because she couldnt sit. She was wailing in pain, and they checked her in, and two hours later she is still sitting in the waiting room. We also watched someone get brought in by ambulance, they transferred her from the gourney into a chair, checked her in up front and also put her in the waiting room!!! Its now been 5 hours and none of us have been seen. This is just ridiculous. If u have an emergency, DONT COME HERE!!!
Had to be brought in after giving birth at home due to hemorrhaging and the labor and delivery ward and personnel are absolutely amazing. They treated me quickly and were kind and compassionate. I can't speak for the rest of the hospital as I have no experience with them but for future children I would definitely go there.
My boyfriend was in a CAR ACCIDENT. His Mom and I made it very clear to them that he had a concussion, yet nothing. Maybe half an hour later or so they check his vitals, which they’re USUALLY supposed to do it right after registration, but get this, TWO hours later they ask him for his registration. Which I found was total bull because after that we sat longer in the waiting room, I want to say about six-seven hours sitting and waiting, then the several hours of things they should’ve done in the beginning, while he was in PAIN. We weren’t the only ones who were waiting so long, that most just up and left. Most the people who were behind the counters were giggling. After those very LONG hours, he was finally seen. They gave him tylenol, did some screening, then waited for the results for a good while and then we left. Let me remind you we went there around 8-9pm, and ended up being there until 6am. Don’t recommend this hospital especially if it’s an emergency, anywhere else but this hospital.
