Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center

I am a Alumni of the University of Maryland, and staff member. I have attending several events at Riggs, in every season, and in every featured space. Each room is uniquely different and can serve the purposes of all different kinds of festivities. I recently hosted a garden party in Summer 2021 to celebrate finishing graduate school, with 60 close friends, family, and colleagues. The weather was perfect, and Moxley Gardens was beautiful. The staff is diligent, lead and response time is quick, quality of service is exceptional, pricing is consistent with but more affordable than other local venues, the space is maintained extremely well, and the diversity of featured caterers is a bonus. With a little bit of flowers and decor magic, the venue can be transformed into something truly special. I highly recommend RAC with full confidence as an Alum, current UMD staffer, and fellow planner/coordinator.

A wonderful place to host your special events. Our amazing venue coordination Mel and her staff made the work fun and easy as a wedding planner and a guest. I look forward to more events working in this awesome space. Great parking and the look is worth it..

Have seen the ballroom, it's a great space. Like the added outdoor space/garden. We wanted to find out alumni engraved brick on the upper outside level, which we did. We do love this place.

As a wedding planner based in Maryland, I definitely recommend the Samuel Riggs Center to brides and other vendors for weddings! Its a beautiful space and a great canvas to create a modern and elegant wedding on. We worked with Ali and loved the attention to detail of the staff, and the fact that lighting is included at the venue! We also were added to the preferred vendor list a few years ago, and can't wait to return again soon for more weddings!

Went to a gala affair and the Riggs Center was well appointed. The parking was close the center was temperature appropriate and the dinner served was very tasty. Well done!!

Terrific place to hold a wedding reception. Beautiful outdoors areas as well.

Absolutely beautiful venue. Whenever I get married, I'd love to use this venue as well. Everything was amazing from the decor to the lighting to the appetitzers. Staff was super friendly and very helpful.

Great venue!!! Easy access, clean,great evening!!

This is a great place to have an event. The place is very spacious and can hold up to a total of 800 people. My event manager did a great job with working with me before and during my event. The only issue I had was the location. It is kind of hard to find depending on where you enter the campus. I recommend placing signage throughout the campus so that your guest will not have any issues finding the location.
