Nice shallow beach. Limited Parking space and gets too crowded on a sunny day. Parking is $10 per car and walk-ins are not allowed. Also no parking allowed outside the park, so be early on a sunny day to catch a spot. I think we saw people bring in kayaks and inflatable boats.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. A must see in the Tahoe area. The beach is clean and beautiful and when the sun is out the views are unreal. There's a nice visitors center with bathrooms and lots of walking trails so it doesn't feel too crowded.

What a beautiful place! The blue water is stunning! It is worthy every mile to get here and we paid only $10 per car.

If you've ever seen pictures of clear water with a "Caribbean" shade of blue for Lake Tahoe, there's a good chance those pictures were taken at Sand Harbor. I visited in early May, and I was so impressed with the clarity of the water and the amazing views in general. If you're looking for picturesque photo opportunities, I'd highly recommend visiting here once the weather starts warming up (i.e., starting after ski season). I had no shortage of amazing photos, and I actually got more comments about the pictures that I took at Sand Harbor than those that I took at Emerald Bay (which is very beautiful as well). I say that just to give some perspective into how Sand Harbor should not be overlooked. A majority of the people walk around the area, but you'll have others who do other activities (e.g., sunbathe, kayak, etc.). I would imagine that this place would get crowded during the summer months. Sand Harbor is worth a visit, and I would even go out of my way to visit here again!

Best bait launch on lake tahoe. The only thing that would make it better is if they opened at 5 am during summer hours to accommodate fishermen.
