My catalyst was stolen from my car. My husbands vehicle was also stolen. Rhino realty didn’t care. You can hear foot steps of the people above. Pool never worked.
Living here wasn't the worst experience but the way the company who manages it treated us on move out was terrible. When we gave our notice, we were told we would be contacted by management about the exact move out policies. After we moved out, we received notice that we owed them money due to not following a particular policy that we weren't told about and that was resolved within less of a day of moving out. The management at Sandia Shadows was very understanding and said we'd received the notification in error but that I'd have to contact management at Greystar to get it straightened out. The woman I was referred to at Greystar was incredibly rude and treated me like I was either stupid or trying to con them out of money. She told me that I should have known the policy that it was in the lease I checked the lease and it directly contradicted what they said they were charging me money based on. Finally she told me that she would check on it and call me back in a few days. Well she never called me back, and given the rest of her unprofessional behavior, I assumed that she had gotten the issue thrown out but didn't want to bother calling me about it or admit that she was wrong about the policy. A month later, I got a letter from a credit agency about this fee! I was never notified by the woman at Greystar or given the opportunity to ask to speak to her upper management about the error. Now rather than dealing with the apartment complex, I'm going to have to deal with a credit agency that won't care that the fee was in error in the first place and that the company had no right to charge me for it in the first place. We'll probably end up having to pay it so our credit doesn't get negatively affected! So unless you want to be charged fees that are blatantly wrong, be treated rudely and unprofessionally when you attempt to politely resolve them, and then have your credit attacked rather than being called back DON'T RENT HERE or with any other Greystar property.
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! My lease is up In a month and I cannot wait to get out of here. Since I’ve lived here there have been at least two different companies managing the property, and both have been equally inept. Don’t expect to have anyone actually answer the phone when you call, don’t expect them to call you back when you leave a message, and don’t expect them to respond to any of your emails, because they won’t. These apartments are advertised as “luxury” apartments but they are anything but. They are definelty not worth the rent that is charged. The customer service here is awful, and there is never anybody actually onsite if you neee anything. There have been several ongoing issues that we have experienced in our time here including loud residents if you live on the bottom floor expect to be able to hear every little step the person above you takes, which is particularly troubling if you’re trying to sleep. There have also been several nights when people are outside yelling for various reasons, and once there was some type of domestic issue and a lady broke a window in the stairwell. More recently, the hot water has been out at least once a week and sometimes more, and the current company has not been able to fix it. When we finally called to complain, we were told they legally didn’t “have to do anything about it since we can boil water” and the city only requires them to “try” and fix it. I have two kids and I cannot give them baths, I can’t bathe, and I don’t have hot water readily available for other things. When we spoke to the maintenance manager she was rude and refused to give us her manager’s phone number. I have sent her manager an email and have yet to hear back. Again, awful customer service. Upon moving in, I was told that the fountain would be fixed within the next few weeks that was February. It is now December and the fountain is still not working and it’s honestly an eye sore. I was also told that the pool would be open by Memorial Day, but it actually didn’t open until a month later at the end of June. Then, in early August, there were people outside partying and they trashed the pool. There were cigarettes and trash everyrwhere. Something affected the PH of the pool and it turned a putrid green color. The gate to the pool wasn’t locked for a week allowing residents to go in and use the pool, which was most definitely hazardous to their health. After two weeks it was finally fixed, and by then it was only open for another few weeks. Basically the pool was only open and usable for about 7 weeks, so if you’re moving in because of the pool, don’t because you will be sorely disappointed. Another issue has been the laundry. The washer dryer combos that are in the apartments take forever and wrinkle your clothes. They are tiny and can’t hold a real load of laundry. The laundry room is another story: it’s freauently filthy, people break the washers and dryers on a regular basis, and sometimes the washers stop mid cycle so you have to keep walking over to turn them back on. Also, the lock is broken so the door to the laundry room doesn’t lock. The other day my husband went to grab our clothes and there was some random girl huddled in a corner in there on her phone. Super weird, and also worrysome. The security here has never been particularly great, either. As previously stated, residents are loud late st night and sometimes fights occur and property is damaged. My husbands truck was broken into within about a month of living here. If you have read this far, I hope that you take what I have said seriously and choose somewhere else to live. Dot make the same mistake I did and sign a lease for this awful place. For the price there are much nicer places to live with much more attentive property managers and fewer issues.
Prior to stopping by to tour this community I was very interested in moving in based on advertisements I had seen. I was very disappointed with my experience. First, I stopped by during office hours and saw an ‘Open’ sign but nobody was to be found. I decided to come back by in a few hours because I was still hopeful. When I came back the leasing agent was there but was extremely rude and acted bothered by my asking to tour an apartment. The floor plans they actually have available, even the “upgraded” ones, are nothing like the advertised pictures and I was told the ones advertised “never come available.” They looked dirty and smelled awful. I highly suggest not wasting your time.
We really enjoyed living at Sandia Shadows. The management recently changed and the apartment we had was newly renovated and in good shape. The price for month by month was great
Sandia Shadows is no longer managed by Greystar as of February of this year.
