Amazing cooking class with excellent chefs/instructors!
Chef Michelle is absolutely amazing. She was highly entertaining with stories about food, history about the state, techniques in cooking, and could answer any of our questions, all while busy prepping/cooking. No question we asked was too trivial and she never made you feel as though you had asked a “dumb” question. If you wanted more explanation about a certain technique or product, she was more than happy to elaborate or bring you up to show you exactly what she is talking about.
The school’s facilities are great, with plenty of room for a large class but not so big that it feels impersonal. All the seats have a great view of the workspace with several live monitors showing a closer view of what the chef is currently working on.
The sous chefs, students, and other staff are all super nice and helpful as well. Everyone is more than happy to help you in any way they can.
I took the Southwest Appetizers class and walked away with some great recipes and a full stomach at the end of class. The appetizers were beyond excellent and I’ll be using them at home or when entertaining. Nothing was terribly complicated or complex but the flavors were divine. Chef Michelle even gave us many hints/tips to make the cooking process more streamlined so we can pull off a gourmet experience without too much stress.
There’s also a store with the school where you can buy some of the spices used, kitchen utensils, cookbooks, and other kitchen needs. It’s really a one-stop for getting started in great New Mexican cooking.
If you’re contemplating taking a class there, don’t! Just sign up and do it! You will not be disappointed and it’s time/money well spent. If I’m ever in Santa Fe again with a few hours free, I’ll be back for another class.

While on vacation in Santa Fe, my girlfriend and I took a 3-hour demonstration class on traditional NM food. Ended with a scrumptious lunch! Fun, educational AND delicious! Definitely recommend.

Our demo class was entertaining, informative and delicious. The class was extremely well organized and ran like a well oiled machine. Highly recommend!

Just got back from a trip to Santa Fe and I was able to take a red pepper workshop. Loved it! Facilities are great and our chefs, Allen and Noe were outstanding. Both were very helpful and knowledgeable and were happy to answer all questions. Learned a lot and plan to go back for more classes.

Just returned from a class with Chef Deena. She is awesome, engaging, knowledgeable, and utterly delightful. I learned so much and am eager to go back for more!
