Someone should do a YouTube series blind tasting NYC halal carts; the “GOATs”, as the kids say, which includes Santa, all taste the same, and it’s a hot pile of meat. No one in their right mind would be able to tell the difference. It’s seasoned, portions are respectable, and menu is affordable. My combo gyro was $7.99, despite the menu stating $6.99. Not complaining, but Santa should probably update the sign to avoid any confusion. Friendly and quick service. You can find a very good cart like this anywhere in the city, and Santa Clause is one to check out if you’re by Union Square.
Halal cart food is amazing! This particular spot adds pita to the food which I've never had any other cart food do. Prices are cheap- about 6.99 for falafel over rice, and 7.99 for mixed chicken and lamb over rice. Definitely a great stop if you're looking for something delicious, cheap, and fast. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is so good. If you like spicy then say yes to hot sauce when they ask. The general rule is you say yes to "white sauce, hot sauce?"
Absolutely one of the best Halal Carts around. Halal Guys doesn’t hold a candle to Santa. The loyalty card is an added benefit. The amount of food you get for the price you pay is incredible. I paid $12 for a meal with a lot of extra chicken and the food was enough for 2-3 meals. Averaging $4-$6 a meal and getting food that’s so tasty? Love it.
Great halal cart in Manhattan, I got the lamb and chicken over rice which was delicious! It comes with white sauce and red sauce
there are three food carts on East 14th between Third Avenue and NYU’s Palladium dorm—Santa Halal is one of them and does a good job at serving up a variety of Middle Eastern style meat + rice dishes as well as a few hot sandwiches like gyros. the food is cooked fresh on the grill. got a chicken over rice $7 + tip. everything from the rice to the chicken is really well seasoned and topped with your choice of sauces as well as some heated chopped pita. the grill man is nice and the service fast and pleasant
Picture is food that was eaten already. Very good and great price. I'd rather come here then adels. No line waiting! Chicken was very good. Cash or zelle only.
They have the tastiest chicken over rice definitely get it with white, hot, & green sauce
For $7 this might be the best halal truck in the city. Got the chicken over rice and lamb over rice plates, both were great and they do a loyalty card so after buying 10 items you can get 1 for freeFood: 5/5
I love talking to my good friend Salim here all the time when I see him, we catch up on life and he remembers me and every single one of my experiences. If you want to get to know someone I highly recommend to come here and talk to him he’s a very nice guy and supports his family very well And I love the food as well. It’s all good.Food: 5/5
Friendly guy and puts time, effort and flavor into the food. Would recommend the chicken over rice with white sauce. Be careful on the spice bc it will change the flavor of the dish.
