My hair does look nice. However, they are a bit heavy and too full. They could have used less hair. They are a bit too tight which I expressed while they were braiding. I had to take a few out in my edges and I have scabs now. I would go back because the braids are neat and the stylist Was nice. They just need to listen to clients, not braid so tight and get more updated on their technique. Be advised I wear braids fairly often and don't think Im tender headed.Service: Braids

I cannot brag about this place enough!! I drive an hour here to have both my teenage daughters hair braided here. They’re worth the trip for me. Ms. Sara is so professional and genuinely cares about her clients concern. They braid very neatly and fast too, my teenage daughters are very tender headed and this is the only place that they have had their hair braided without having a headache and can sleep very well at night!

Absolutely best braids ever! I love Miss Sarah she's been doing my braids for years, but this time I went and was my hair was braided by Miss MeMaw. This young lady is the best! She's very quick and as you can see precise with her braids and has a great taste for style. The salon is conveniently located close to uptown and it has a very relaxing and friendly environment. I would recommend Sara's African Braiding Salon to all my family and friends and the surrounding community. I was desperate and needed my hair done, so I looked around. Found this place based off reviews. I called was quoted $150 for knotless braids at starting price. I call again to confirm, telling them I want med waist length braids, she tells me it’s better to be quoted in person? Makes no sense. I get there, the price is $315? They make up their prices. They base it off how much ‘money’, it looks like a person has. Paying is no issue, but for outdated and non detail oriented work? I’ll pass.

Cannot overstate how great my experience was. I drove in from another state because I wanted senegalese twist done right. And, boy did she definitely deliver. Braids were immaculate and beautiful! I have received nonstop compliments. The atmosphere was very friendly and I was able to observe the other stylist and braiding styles offered. I already have plans for me next visit

I took the braids out after about 4 days. Tooooooo tight and heavy. Couldn’t sleep. They were neat but entirely too tight and too much weave.

I’m so happy and grateful that I found Sara. Her business practice is based on treating her many clients like family and her rates are extremely fair. As someone who is natural with thick 4c hair, I really appreciate how patient and gentle Sara is with my hair. It really makes me feel good to hear her say how beautiful my hair is as she combs through my coils. My experience with other salons where they huff and puff as they brush my hair like they’re cleaning old carpet allows me to understand just how valuable a stylist like Sara is. Everyone in the shop is so kind and considerate of one another and the vibe is so welcoming that you’ll end up talking to other women who are getting their hair done. Rare experience for most places, but it’s the norm for Sara’s shop. It’s a joy to see your fellow sister get up from the chair before you and see how slayed her hair is as you anticipate the next style you’re going to get, but also so excited to see your hair when it’s done. Sara and every stylist in this shop does a phenomenal job. I’m so proud to be a client of such a lovely place and atmosphere. In fact, I’m getting knotless braids as I type this : I’m so happy to be alive and i look forward to getting my hair done, because I finally have a place to go that values and appreciate my business and respects me as a human being. They are all about a dollar and not healthy hair or maintaining a head of hair. You tell them what you want and they give you that plus so much more. They don't listen at all. You ask for short they say it isn't possible but turn around and butcher cut a bunch off. They braid extremely too tight. When you tell them you don't want something a particular way another braider will chime in and comment their rude opinion. Hair styles that another shop has done in 6-7hrs is 12-13 hrs with them. NEVER AGAIN will I go to them.
