Saucy by Nature is a fantastic catering company to work with from a business, logistical and food perspective. For our wedding, we worked directly with Przemek owner and chef and would not hesitate to recommend using his catering company for any event. The catering RFP process can be grueling with lots of back and forth, but not so with Saucy by Nature. Right from the beginning Przemek was transparent and clear with pricing details. During our tasting, we were even more delighted to discover that his food is delicious and original! We wanted to serve untraditional wedding food and were happy to find that he had creative options from his menu. Also, his company ethos for globally influenced food with local, fresh ingredients matched our beliefs. From a logistical and planning standpoint, Przemek gave us confidence in his work as he helped us coordinate rentals and was very detail oriented, organized and prompt in responses. While Przemek had never worked in our venue before, on our wedding day everything was seamless with food and rental set-up. Lots of our guests raved about the food. His staff even packed up leftover foods reusing boxes and containers so that nothing was wasted. If we had another catered event, we would definitely go straight to Saucy by Nature.

We had SERIOUS issues when we had them cater a wedding! I was the best man at a wedding held at the Queens County Farm in late August of 2015. After trying a few caterers with the bride and groom, they had come across Saucy by Nature and enjoyed the tasting and decided to book them for the wedding. The quality of food served at the wedding was okay. The service was the primary issue. About 20-25 people at the wedding did not eat because there was not enough food. The primary concern that the groom had voiced with Shayla coordinator prior to the event was that there be enough food for all the guests. The parents of the bride did not even get to eat because of the lack of food. The groom and I followed up with saucy by nature and met with Shayla and Przemek owner. Przemek was apathetic. He claimed that the wedding had an excess of 10 people than what was originally agreed upon in the contract. The problem is that IF there were additional guests at the wedding, at MOST, it would have been 5 people. Secondly, it wouldn't matter if there were 10 additional guests because 20-25 people were not served any type of protein and were left to have only salad and sides. Even his claim was true, 15 people would still be without dinner at the wedding. He stated that his staff did not eat throughout the event because the food was served to the guests. Either this is an absolute lie, or they are terribly unprepared and are not suited to be catering events such as weddings. We requested the amount of those 20-25 seats be refunded since they were not served. He claimed that he would only refund the protein cost of 15 people, which was ridiculous. I told him that the experience of the entire dinner portion of the wedding was completely ruined for the people who did not eat along with the bride and groom hosting the event. Przemek explained that he is not responsible for the experience of the dinner at the wedding. To claim that he is not responsible for the dinner experience is absolutely absurd. Do you really want to place your trust and money into someone's who runs a catering company that is not invested in the dining experience of your guests? After much arguing, they had agreed to refund only $1800 of a 30K plus contract. Then he proceeded to rescind his initial offer and say he would only refund $750. After further arguing, he agreed to send a check for $1500 the next day. This does not cover anywhere near the amount of damage they did at the wedding. An entire table of guests got up and left early because there was no food for them. In addition to that, the payment didn't arrive that same week. After multiple unanswered calls and messages left, we made contact 3 weeks after the meeting where they finally decided to quickpay the amount. Shayla was kind and understanding, but she is unable to make any decision to compensate as Przemek is the owner. So as kind and understanding as she was, it was all pointless. Przemek is brash, rude, and once he had his money, he didn't care any further. When we sat down and addressed our concerns with him, I expressed that he began to be hostile with our honest concerns with what happened at the wedding. He responded that it’s because he was sitting and wasting his time dealing with us. Tremendously disappointed after everything and was the only downside to the wedding and left a terrible taste in our mouth.
